    The Babe Magnet

    It's time I made a reader's ride! So here I go...

Anyway it's an '84 Grand Marquis. She's got 76,000 miles on her now and I love her. The name and the car really don't go together, but oh well. I don't really have any plans for her other then to keep her for as long as I can. Things aren't looking too good though... The water pump is going and it leaks brake fluid so the rear brakes are out . Everything in due time I suppose.

My brother and I were throwing some ideas around though. He's got a bored out 350 from a Camaro that he bought from a friend after the car was totaled. I think it'd be the fastest car here if I put it in the Marquis . But I don't think that will happen, at least not anytime soon.

    So here are some pic's

Very nice! I was going to say, you've got some curious ladies in your area if it really is a babe magnet, but one never knows.

As far as a 350 in a Panther, I talked to a demo derby who does it all the time, as he runs Fords but his good engine is a Chevy. Said he just relocates one motor mount and that's just about it, and the 12-bolt and Chevy spindles he has pretty much bolt right up.

I didn't know it was that simple. Imagine an 180mph Marquis lol now that'd be something. I don't think I'd be able to drive something with so much power!

thats a clean '84, it was obviously cared for by someone. that being the case IMHO a chevy 350 would be a bad idea. Unless you reallyy wanted to do it.

Probably depends on how much trouble it is to install his Chevy stuff versus the time/money to provide it with a comparable Ford-based drivetrain. If it'd cost a few grand plus lots of time to put together decent Ford power, and the Chevy motor and trans are both desirable and ready to go, it could be well worth the trouble.

I'd leave that gem stock in a garage where it belongs. If you put a 350 in it i will hunt you down and rape you with a similar ford product.
Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.
