Took advantage of the day and cleaned up Cherry for the first time since late last year. Scrubbed her down, cleaned up the white walls, polished the bumpers, and gave everything a quick coat of TurtleWax ICE synthetic wax. Works pretty good...at least where the paint it still decent.

The pictures don't hardly show the imperfections. The clear is coming off bad on the roof and header panel, as well as the top of the passenger fender and trunk. It's times like these that I really just wanna blow my savings on getting the car painted...but there are other priorities. So as of now, all I can do is shine her up and be satisfied that it's nothing worse. Still a pretty car in the right light.

And also got the HHR shined up as well, so figured it deserves a little recognition.

Highway driving rocks. I average that if I'm very nice to the skinny pedal. Any kind of overrevving and the number just goes down hehe.

Nice!!! I like the pics that you posted earlier. Nice to have decent MPG's, but for a toy/cruiser/boulevard bruiser, does it factor into the equation? Cruising/show season is just around the corner

Thanks mang. It's a big factor for me, as she's my quasi-daily driver. I have the truck for bad weather and winter and as a backup when the Marquis needs to sit for whatever reason. And my hour drive to work is much more comfortable in the Marquis than anything else.

I wish she looked good enough to take to shows, but with the clear going as bad as it is...pictures like these are the only way to get her to look that sharp.

Great numbers Scott. Wish I can say the same but my car sees mainly side streets with me flooring it all over the place.

Is the HHR your GF's daily driver?

Faded paint doesn't seem to deter people from complimenting my mom's CV; and that's with the cruddy turbines on it. That may be because she is a young-looking woman; I dunno. In any event, she gets compliments when she's out and about.

Those turbines done yet? When put blackwall tires on mine I think I want to paint mine all black except the outer rim, not sure yet though.

Yeah, Sarah drives the HHR almost daily. I drive to work and then am gone for two days, so my six day work week requires three round trips in. I can handle the lower MPG this way, versus her doing mostly city driving four or five shifts. And she doesn't like driving the Marquis due to the size anyways, so more fun for me.

Only compliments I get are from people on here.

                                Mine will keep the whitewalls.
