I think you mean the air cleaner. its just a foam cleaner. when I was 16 I had a few of them, after running into alot of problems I got rid of it, but I had 2 or 3 of them before I wisened up

        love the hood, thats sweet

I personally would have went bigger with an edelbrock carb
when you upgrade the intake, it should pick up 10-15hp easy

if you are talking about the edelbrock triangle air filter that was just on there while i was putting it together (it was small and out of my way) those filters are dangerous junk

i learned my lesson with those air filters a long time ago too. a friend of mine had one and one time when he was messing with his engine fire shot out the carb and the foam filter ended up all over the inside of the engine that was not fun to clean out

i get a lot of complements on the hood and it makes me happy.

the 600cfm is plenty big enough to support the engine and if i need bigger later i'll get a bigger one then.
i'm not going to be so much upgrading the intake in a lot of peoples eyes because the intake that i have now is too much (low profile single plane ported and polished runners and enlarged and polished plenum with around 2000-7000rpm range) i'm only running a performer plus cam and that is all the bigger i want for a cam so i need to get a matching rpm range intake for better performance. so in a since i will be upgrading the intake and with the cam and intake running in the same rpm range i should pick up some power where i want it

yea i was going to say air cleaner but i wasnt sure, it looked more like a mesh housing to me. So they're crap then, I see them on a lot of mild 350's.

yea it has a metal mesh top that houses a washable foam filter. they have a rating of 1000cfm air flow but they let a lot of dirt into the engine and if you ever happen to backfire out the carb its destruction at its finest. i stay far away from them except for using them as a cover when ite engine wont be running.

the 1st pic is all hand drawn by me the other twi i used photo shop to break it into lines then print trace and made multi copies of the lines to try different designs.

Haha! Another one to join the fender skirt club! Full length or something like the ones on mine.

I got mine from JC Whitneys, but at the moment they're not on the car, due to a little accident my girlfriend was in that damaged one. I'd like full length ones, and whenever she gets a car I'll have a set made up that brings the trim acrossed 'em if I don't delete the bump trim. I've considered lake pipes too.

That's a good idea with Photoshop...now I wanna play but PS is on my old computer that doesn't work...damnit...

Neato, the half ones, just not quite the same shape as mine.

JC Whitneys sells 'em. There about $170 for the pair and they bolt right on. You'll have to trim 'em a bit if you want a nice straight line, but a little fiberglass work doesn't look like it'll be a problem for you.

I'm definitely gonna be watching your project.

The rear spoiler will look cool on that car with the skirts, If done right it will look unique and stock at the same time. I think most people are just thinking ricer wing and skirt scraping the ground, obviously you are going more subtle and I think it will look very good. Are you shaving the front handles as well and using keyless entry?

i think it will look good myself. i know i've got a twisted mind i want a luxury box to be smooth (sleek mirrors, no antenna, etc), classic classy (fender skirts, etc), muscle car flair (cowl hood, lip spoiler, etc), modern edge (flush mount front door handles, 18" wheels, etc) and look stock. i know that is a lot to aim for but i'm hoping i can pull it off.

im not shaving the front handles im planning on getting handles off of a more modern car to install. not sure what im going to use yet but im looking for something with flat mounted handles (level with the rest of the door) and integrated key locks and i want them to be printable.
i really dont like door poppers ive had fun dealing with a friend locking his remote in the car a few times and im not going to put myself through that.

                              mirrors

You could use mirrors from a different Panther...For example: 1st gen box or '92-97 aero mirrors.

Hey mang. You have any pictures of the square tachometer before you installed it? This is definitely something I am looking out for. From snooping around on the web these tach's can already be up to 30+ years old...may make it tough to find one.
