    electrical gremlins

Now the car won't even start with the battery that was just put in! Electrical gremlins seem to be taking over...Kevin swapped the alloys w/good tires over to the steel rims w/ crappy tires. I just hope we can get her running on the weekend, so that I won't need to call a flatbed to get it to the shop for parts removal.

Can hear the starter click but no start. Something must be draining power from the battery?

Battery connections tight and clean? If you can get under there, with a rubber mallet, tap the starter and see if it starts then. Assuming, you checked the connections...

yeah... check the battery lugs. if someone overtightened one and broke it, then you'll never carry enough amps. Had that happen with a Walmart I used to go to. I've stopped letting anyone work on my cars if I have to tools to do the job.

If you have a battery cable that won't won't get tight on the post, put a short self tapping screw in there. It'll keep it from moving.

I've also resorted to small C-clamps.

                  the last drive...

Boosted the CV, then drove it to the body shop for the tear down. This evening was the last time I'll get to drive it...

Shame. You should put the rims on your 90!

I thought of that idea but I prefer the chrome wheel covers on the box. I think the rims would look awesome on Kevin's '83 MK VI. His car's paint is Moondust Metallic grey, so it wouldn't clash as much. Would have to find some Lincoln center caps though.

Nice. Should post pics when the wheels are on the Lincoln! FYI the caps probably won't fit over the front hubs.

They do, I ran my 92 rims on my 91 for a little bit. Looked ugly though.

ah, cool. I run HPPs from a 95 on my 90 and the center caps don't fit over the front hubs.

You did a big burnout before you got rid of it and did a few figure 8's right?
