Yeah it takes some work for the HIDs im not actually sure how to do it yet, but I know vision mercury has some in his 87? I think thats the year, The HO swap is covered in a sticky much more detailed however the basics are,
    New intake HO
    New cam Explorer or HO
    New ecu mustang
    New throttle body mustang
    New heads gt40/gt40p
and I think that is it, although you can do more like MAF conversion, headers to fit the new heads, and exhaust etc.

If my numbers are correct end result is about 250hp, and almost 300ftlbs torque (depending on cam choice). as for the prices

        Intake-$50
        ECU-$70-100
        Heads-$300-500
        Headers-$100-150
        Throttle body-$30? (mine was free)
        EGR spacer-$20? (also free)
        cam-$100 (also free)

        I think I got everything.

you can also use the 3M products mentioned too but, if you want to jus bring the paint back to a shine, the orage bottle is good. if your paint isent bad but, just faded, use the 3M stuff and you can restore the paint. your wagon would look awsome with the tail pipes in the stock location with turndowns and mustang wheels.

Or drop in a 351, which will give you less mpg but more go.

price wise around here you could probably get someone to pull an engine and drop a new one in for 2-300 bucks. buying the engine is another story
