    T.A.'s 83 CV Police

    Hello,

Well, it's home and I got a bunch of pics.

    Here's the skinny.

1983 Police LTD Crown Victoria S
    119,000 Original Miles
    351W
    Power Windows
Everything is original from what I can tell except tires, exhaust, and the "ticket light" (which needs to be replaced)

    Recent Paint (Maaco?)

Rear Windows are inop. Fronts work fine.
    Dash pad needs replacing.

    AC Clutch needs replacing.

Exhaust looks new, but it was converted to single.

Car was asigned to a state school, which one, I don't know. It was bought by the elder gentleman who traded it in, from the state in 1989 with 89,000 miles. So, that means only 30,000 miles in 10 years.

Engne runs good and tranny shifts good. Shocks are gonners. Looks like the rear differential might have a slight leak.

My 14 yr old daughter says "It's OK" She wanted to drive it around the yard. We have a 6 acre front yard so we had a good drive.

Be another week before I put tags on it. No hurry.

Here be pics, some you've seen, some you haven't. Comments and ideas welcome.

Not looking to go radical, just make it more efficent, safe, and comfortable.

Looks nice, not too gooey underneath either.

Might be the rear windows are simply unplugged inside the doors. Wouldn't surprise me on a police car.

About darn time, too. Even the truck is Canadian. Gotta check the 91 Wagon VIN. Might be I have two cars built in the good ol' USA.

                      Very Nice. Congratulations!

May i suggest adjusting the hood bumper on the passengers side, as well as harvesting some trunk carpet out of a civi Crown Victoria. It will spruce it up a bit more.

Very nice car. I probably would have bought it if I had seen it first! It would have saved me $73 a year on license plates. In Illinois, we can get antique vehicle plates for cars 25 years or older for $5 a year. I still have a couple of years before my '86 turns 25.

I was thinking the blue interior would make things a bit easier for what your are doing, but your car is so much nicer and clean than this one.

I thought about reselling this one, but, my daughter likes it and I've already developed a connection to it. I wasn't looking for one of these, it just fell into my lap. Dealer had four calls on the car Monday after I had stopped by in the morning. No money changed hands, just a handshake. Don't find that much anymore.

                            Whoops, I'm starting to ramble.

Thanks! The yard is great! I got 15 acres with 8 clear. Had to buy a 66 inch hustler to cut the darn thing. Also got a giant pickle shed with about a 100 x 100 concrete and loading dock I plan to turn into a shop. I could probably have a car show in my front yard LOL.

On the bench, I'd kinda like to stay original, but my daughter is 5'2" and when she pulls up to reach the pedals, my knees are jammed up to my eyebrows. I'''m just going to have to personalize this thing, I reckon.
