I have used a bumper jack. Slide the jack tube ovet the end of the ratchet and push. Be carefull because it's verry east to snap the bolt off this way.1991 LTD P72 351 W Restored Century Police (Ongoing Project) Sergeant Vic.

if you mount them below the rear deck (in the trunk) they should fit without issue. This is assuming that the new speakers have the spacer ring on them to keep the surround from banging the edges. If the magnet is too large to fit the "giant rubber band" on, then you may have to use some baling wire or something similar to tie them up using the stock hooks. You could also mount them below after drilling the needed holes and just nut and bolt them in (bit more PITA, but it would work).
