    '87 Crown Vic Tudor "Project Classic Cruiser"

    This is my readers ride thread for my Vic. I was selling it for a while, but talked myself outta it. I bought it February of 08, with 84,000 miles and I am the second owner. It needed an oil pan, gas guage (still does), passenger window motor and blinkers didnt work. I fixed everything except gas gauge. When doin oil pan we discovered a soft spot in the frame.

    Well now it has just topped 87,000 miles, and going strong. I have plans for her, and I decided to go through with some of the plans I have for it, which is to make it a nice, clean classic. It needs some restoration, such as the soft spot on frame. Well, here are my plans layed out for yuz......

    -Mild 351W carburated with a lumpy cam and headers
    -lose cats, smog pump and A/C
    -gauges
    -rims and tires (wide in rear)

    The rest is all stuff that I would like, but might not (and probably wont) happen

    -Detroit locker
    -jack up rear
    -paint job

    Well here is a pic of it now, more soon....

    Sound cool. Just wondering why you want a 351 when more than an adequate amount of power can be put out of a 302? No matter what i can't wait to see the project progress.


    And i have rear springs for sale They will really jack up the rear.

      351 is very nice motor...I always like 351W motors.

        test drive a 94-97 f series pickup with a 351 and then get back in your car, youll be wondering where all the power went. i wouldnt want a carbed 351 though, they get bad enough gas mileage with efi, and with carb you lose a few ponies anyway but its still a good improvement over the lopo 302. the stock non roller truck motor makes 210hp and 315 ft lbs. i think the roller engines made another 5 or 10hp.

        at any rate, good luck with the project it sounds cool. if i was you id try to find a 351 HO out of a 84-86 ford pickup (only ones that came factory with a 4 bbl so theyre easy to spot) if you want a carbed motor and they have about the same power as the efi 351 give or take 5-10hp.

        351 is a very nice torquey motor, ill take a 351 over a 302 anyday
