Nice project!!! You do realize that the devil was working on the Lincoln with you? j/k (3rd pic down from the second group of pics) I know you said that you haven't been on here in a while, but didn't you post a thread in the OTB section for a 390FE. If so, what happened with that idea? Anyways, nice truck and have fun cruisin'.

Actually, they are 5 on 4.5 I believe. Standard ford passenger car. I believe the original truck axles were 5 on 5.

The first pic is from our car show last year, and yep, its downtown Linfield hehe The rest of the shots are from our shop which is about 2 miles away in beautiful rural Trappe Pennsylvania.

The 390 in question was actually for another project in our club. In one of those pics, you can see the front end of a 66 Galaxie 500. It came with a 352FE. The guy we built it for, failed the "check the oil" test, and snapped a connecting rod, totaling the motor. We found a 390 on ebay a month or so ago, and its currently on the engine stand getting new gaskets and seals. Soon as he finishes puttin it together, we're gonna paint it up nicey-nice, clean up the engine bay and drop her in. THAT is a pictorial for another day. Ohh, and the devil in that pic should look familiar to ya amigo. The day we met, at Harry's in Hazelton, I was in a similar position, under the front end of an 86 MGM, pulling the bumper, grill, etc for my ex's car. heheh

My buddy is actually considering using/modding that original solid axle, for his '37 ford hotrod pickup project. Wow, y'know we never seem to do ANYthing the easy way lol

the back half of the linc would be a nice shop bench for resting... trunk is still usable also to store things as needed.

The truck lug pattern is 5x5 1/2, the Lincoln is 5x5. The big Ford/Lincoln/Mercury full-size tanks all had the Chevy truck wheel bolt pattern....

                  Read upwards for the explanation.

Until then, shut the fuck up. Christ almighty...

Its ok Tom, Im not offended. I kinda figured some folks would have rather seen me build up that Lincoln, rather than salvage it to build the truck. If not for already having the F100, I would have liked to have fixed up the MkV for myself hehe.

As an update, we just ordered a Lokar cable shifter with neutral saftey switch, both rear calipers (The E-brake mechanics on the original were rusted solid), and all new guts for the steering wheel horn ring. Next up is the ducts for the defroster, windshield wiper arms, and the radio. Ohh, and LOTS of rust hole welding. yeehaw. Pics commin this weekend.
