    My 1990 "Bluesmobile"

This is my 1990 LTD Crown Victoria which I bought in 1999 from Universal Studios. It was used in the 1998 movie "Blues Brothers 2000". My car is one of the 17 Bluesmobiles that were made for the movie of which 10 still exist. This car was used for most of the interior scenes and probably all of the scenes shot through the windshield. It was an unmarked Ontario Provincial Police car before the movie studio bought it at auction.

I replaced almost everything mechanical on the car, just about everything in the interior, but I kept the body looking exactly as you see it in the movie. The only thing that isn't stock is the oil cooler from a 351w motor. It was a direct bolt-on with the 302 and I can still use a normal size oil filter.

My new project which I hope to have finished for next summer, will be restoring a 1986 police package Crown Vic into a replica of a Chicago Police car. It will resemble this:

Some of you board members have allready helped me with some hard to find interior pieces. When I mention this project, many times I hear "good luck finding a lightbar, they don't exist anymore!" but I have this sitting in my basement:

I also have collected the proper decals. I will post pictures as this project progresses.

How much did you buy it for? that's pretty neat that the cast signed the trim piece.

Trunk buttons were put wherever the agency buying the car wanted them. I also used to own another 1990 and the trunk release button was on the right side of the steering collumn. I bought the car in 1999 for about $3000 Canadian. I also probably put another $6000 American into restoring it. The frame was bent probably from doing a stunt, so the entire chassis including engine, transmission & rear end are from another car.

Yes, only with the ignition on, but my old car would open even without keys in the ignition. I guese it could be ordered either way. My old '90 was also a police package and donated its hood, wheels & tires, engine, and guage package to the Blues Brothers car.

                      Hey Neums,

Those arn't Chicagoland pics are they? I was there with TRWP72 (The green and white Fl. Sheriff Ford)

That is a nice car, and even nicer in person. You going to make it back to Chi town this year?
Love to see that thing back on the EVOC course.

BTW, the hat was a nice touch.

Yes, I'll be at the Chicagoland show. I only live 6 miles from the showgrounds. I hope to have the '86 CPD car ready by then.

This is a video of me driving the car through the EVOC course.
