Hood preparation

The hood was in pretty good shape. a couple of factory, hardly noticeable dents but really nothing major. sanding it made it look like i hit a deer or something...soooo much blooood. lol the car will be completely done within the next couple of months!

Cleaning it down after the first sanding job.

stil primer and the scratch? coat. the entire car will be sprayed at the same time.

Thanks. Its still far from done. After all of the panels are smoothed, or semi smoothed, the car will be primered and scratched?. We will block everything out till smooth then i think it will get sprayed its body color, then cleared. Then we have to sand it all again so it will look like glass. Gonna be a huge mess, sanding everything multiple times. Fun!

Me too. So were the body guys lol. They said that paint that was on it was a thick enamel. Good stuff. Prolly painted only in the last couple of years. They said we could have wet sanded it and buffed it to perfect condition. They were very happy with the condition of it, truly a luck of the Irish find.

scratch coat? thought it was guide coating. that way when sanding it shows the low spots where your primer is and areas where you get to metal would be the high spots. why did you use a glossier pait for primer?

lol thats why i was putting the question mark. but guide is the name i was thinking of. It slipped my mind lol. The guys said it was a high quality primer, and that guide coat was glossy when he put it one. It dont know much about it to tell you the truth. They said this stuff dries hard as a mofo and is really good and solid primer will never let anything crack or flack from underneath.

Sandblasted Plenum Plaque

Today i got my plenum plaque sandblasted, and sometime in the near future I will paint it black or silver. Not sure yet. I have black paint in my possession, but i would have to go and buy silver. I am a really cheap bastard.
