Sub is in the back of my mind at this point when I already have thousands of dollars worth of items to install. I already have a 4 gauge wire running from the battery to the back, will just have to put in a split once I decide to install one.
About the fogs....The current fogs on the car are 2nd gen Escort GT fogs. The ones to be installed sometime down the road came off the first gen ones and look like this:
They will be mounted through custom brackets inside air dam that will be attached to the bumper

Oil pan came in today. Just has a black coating inside and out. Any idea what type of coating is on it? Would it hurt anything painting it? I don;t want the new one to rust away like the old one did.~David~

probably just paint if I had to guess. I wouldn't paint the inside just in case it doesn't stick properly but the outside should be no issue.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Yeah not touching the inside whatsoever. Outside will get a nice red scotch brite scuff, engine primer then wrinkle paint.~David~

Dave, I bought a new pan when I did mine (had a chrome one on there). From an engineer's perspective a chrome pan is a no go. I just painted it Ford grey.
Looking for a driver's side fender? Me too. Let me know if you find multiples. I have the passenger's side, new in the box, NOS. Whenever it is that I pull my coupe out of its corner of the garage, I'm gonna change the fenders, fix the roof damage, etc. I have a pristine driver's fender, but I kind of wanted an NOS one.**2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 5.0/ 6 spd/ 3.73s, 20K Cruiser

Alarm is set for 1:15 am! Gotta get to work and fire up the paint booth and turn on the lights. Painting the oil pan and then another lightning egr spacer and throttle body. I start work at 5am. I like taking my time while painting to ensure a quality end result.~David~

Hit up ez pull this weekend and picked up a fuel rail off an 87 Grand Marquis. Upper intake was already off so it was easy pickings. There was a loaded 85 Crown Victoria that I snatched the trip minder, trunk hinge bumpers and fuel door popper mechanisms and all of the extra fuel door related parts from. No good drivers side fenders though
Fuel door popper will be installed over the summer. It works great on the bench test! Fuel rail is so I can build my top end off the engine.
There was only ONE 86 panther at the yard and the damn engine was gone! So much for getting that 86 specific heater tube.Last edited by 87gtVIC; 04-07-2013, 05:09 PM.~David~

Bench tested the tripminder today. Works better then the one currently in the car. Who would have guessed a part two years older working even better?!
Also made a template for the fuel door popper plunger. The 85 CV I pulled the setup from had a plate tacked to the metal inside the fuel door area above the wheel well. It was a reinforcement piece so the metal does not warp there. SO I fabbed one out of some aluminum I had around. The next task would be drilling the metal for the plunger and bolt holes to stock though.....nail bitter!~David~
