    I say LEDs FTW
I like LEDs. You have something in mind that would be a suitable replacement for an axial lamp?

I was thinking 3 T1 LEDs with a proper resistor in series... but it wouldn't be dimmable like it would with the bulb. To add a PWM circuit to make it dimmable, would be a PITA. Might be better with the axial bulb.

lol. I found a suitable replacement through Jons advise. Also after finding out the name of the bulb ebay has one I need in the exact size!

Not so much that, but my dad will have a garage being built beginning in April. Who know how long that will take. Back yard will be out of commission until its over...and once it is over time will be spent on it giving it finishing touches and such.

Looks interesting for sure, but way overkill. The bulb is not even as long as my finger tip.

Found one at work and replaced it with that. Next task is testing the tachometer function.

yeah... that's a small area... you'd need to figure out a way to wire two T1 (3mm) LEDs at each end pointed at each other for it to work. Probably have to rig up a resistor on the back side of the board in series to the LEDs. A 1K pot may prove handy for figuring out what resistor value you want to use.

finding the right brightness LED for the job may prove interesting too.

A few weeks ago I picked up a big ass trailer hitch from the junkyard. It is a Curt hitch says class V on it. weighs just under 40 pounds! I pulled it off a hot rod 1982 wagon. The Wagon was in primer and everything was still masked off. The engine and transmission were long gone as were the gauges in the home made center console. It had a clock delete plate but it was hacked to fit something that was not there when I seen it.

Anyways it fought me good because the bolts were spinning...I did not give up.. $15 for the hitch and over 40 in paint supplies I had a brandy new looking hitch. I da'd it down and wire wheeled all of the rust spots out. Self etch primed, filler primed, undercoated then clear coated that. I compounded, polished and waxed it a few days ago and installed it this morning. OH I even clearcoated the sticker!

My dad gave me the Reese hitch cover. I like it. Only reason I wanted it was to stiffen the car up even more. May use it for a cargo carrier we have but totally unlikely.

That's heavy duty stuff! Should help slightly with weight distribution as well I imagine. have you tried and "extreme cornering" with it yet to see if the rear feels stiffer?
Great attention to detail as always! It's fairly well hidden, unlike some other hitches on Box's ive seen. Do you know what your cars towing capacity is? My manual say 5,000 pounds for mine, which I thought was pretty awesome. Yours has to be close to that.

No extreme cornering aside from backing out of the driveway and cutting the wheel hard to the left to get in the parking spot. Extreme enough to make the fan hit the fan shroud on turns.....I adjusted it all I could to get it from hitting the shroud with the car going straight down the road. I really just have to install the engine mounts already. That would solve everything.

I have no clue what my car can tow.

If I see one our customers this summer, I will take a pic of his rig. Then you will know whay you can tow

This guy has a '91 MGM and tows a 24 foot doral aft cabin cruiser boat. The boat has a small block V8 and sits on a heavy tandom axle trailer. The merc basically says "fuck you boat, your comming with me". Even in the steep boat ramp. Many of the general public always stick around, just to see if he gets stuck. Hasent happend yet lol.
