It's a good street package. Like I told my wife when were discussing the thing, I wouldn't want it if it were stock, and I wouldn't want it if it were much if any more modified. I'd be fine without the roller rockers, aftermarket ignition, and aluminum driveshaft, but oh well. :p

Yeah, I knew that's what you meant. It's those two little bars that go from the center of the front suspension crossmember back to the torque boxes where the side rails join in.

Yeah I read his Spotlight Reader's Rides and he got them for a wagon. Is that a stock item for wagons? Perhaps it's something to think about if it's not too much trouble.

I definitely have them on the '87 wagon, though they were not present on the '79 during my ownership. Both wagons had the little diagonal fender braces, however. Either way, whether they're made, bought new, or salvaged, they'll be relatively easy to add once I get around to it.

Sorry, mang. 450 ft-lbs @ 3500rpm not enough for you? Either way, it's a nice gain over what I have now, with 150 extra "DDhp" too!

You gonna twiddle your thumbs until 2500-3000?

Looks to be over 400 lb-ft from idle on up. I'd kill to have that turd in my DD.

                      1) You are a silly goose

                      2) That readout has no data before 2000rpm

                      3) Said readout projects output of about 430 lb-ft at 2000rpm

                      4) Though we're not certain exactly what converter is in the car, it's unlikely it flash-stalls below 2000rpm (in fact, I've heard explicit claims to the contrary)

                      5) As it sits, that engine is making maybe 380 lb-ft *max* (not that that's bad), and that only at crazy-low RPM where all it does is contribute to traction problems

                      6) If I want my torque curve lower, I can very easily choose a smaller cam from the same lineup .... such as ..........

Hey Mickey, drive the thing for a bit to warm everything up, put it in 1st, throw on the e-brake, hit the regular brakes, and then grab some big throttle for just a bit. Lemme know what you see.

I'll take that suggestion under advisement once the pavement warms up a bit .......... :p (when I recently removed the RS-As I ran on the rear for a couple weeks, I found they had lots of annoying little circumferential scratches from all the spinning they'd been doing!)

Michael, forgive me, because I am an asshole. I mixed up the cruves. It is a fine torque curve. Disregard my stupidity, please.

Yah, but a turd is a turd, be it hp or torque, so Mikey now will have some horse-sized turd of an engine :p However, with this torque, indeed have fun hooking up... Wonder if anyone makes Super-Turbine torque converters for Ford applications?

What good would a fancy torque converter do if I have too much torque to hook up?
