By Jove, I think I've found one! 89 GM

Searching the internet for hours last night using Google turned up a nice looking 89 Grand Marquis GS about an hour or so South of the Tampa Bay area.

Tan in and out, 78K miles, has the "old fart" clear plastic bug deflector, but looks clean. I know to get underneath and check out the brake and fuel lines for rust, etc. Located at a lot that deals in low mileage late model cars (guess they couldn't pass this one up!), "Asking" $1795. If it checks out, I'm hoping to get it out the door (with tax, tag, title) for $1400 - $1500.

Pics show one small crease in front left fender before wheel opening (no break in the paint) and a slight scuff on the soft trim around the right rear bumper. Chrome looks good, has base GS wheel covers, no Premiun Sound (hopefully a cassette player, though). I've been told all windows and locks work (those were issues with others I've seen).

Keeping my fingers crossed and COME ON Saturday!

Here's the link to the site.

Noticed the driver door is a little darker than the rest of the car - will check out to see what's what (body damage, hinges, etc). All in all, it looks good, but will know when I see it this weekend.

the 1/4, and both drivers side doors look different. 2K is a bit much anyway. About half that is a good deal. Car looks good and should clean up nice. I;d also inspect the backend on the pass side, it's been hit there too, just looks like someone clipped something with the bumper

+1. It looks okay, but not the greatest, and 2K is alot.

I wasn't going to pay asking price. I figured if it checks out nice, OTD $1200 (including tax, tag, title and their "administrative fees").

I figured grampa wasn't very careful parking in the garage, necessitating a little bodywork and paint.

There's a white 91 LS in Orlando if I could only get the seller to e-mail me information on that car rather than new Suzukis!

Mods? Maybe a full tank of gas for starters!

As finances allow, I think a set of old-style Magnum 500 rims would look nice since the car has 15 inchers. American TorqueThrust D's would look good, too, but pricey... For now, it will be a daily commuter car.

Love to upgrade to duals in the future, like I was going to do on my 03 GM (sold off the Marauder tips I had bought for it).

First things first, if it checks out and I get it, will be a full-day thrash with the orbital, clay and paint sealant, interior cleaner and silicone on all the rubber/vinyl.

Those bug deflectors are the fuckin' ugliest things God ever put on this earth, that makes my unborn babies cry.

                              Would that bug-deflector reduce fuel-economy?
