ÆJacks 91 Grand Master Q, kinda DUW

Here is the car. It's a daily driver therfore i can only do so much to it at a time, so i can't really call it a project untill i get a new beater, Enjhoy!

Here are the pics after I put the Lincoln wheels

here are some after washing it in milton (My shop is on a dirt road :P)

And some Misc pics from before

Here is a couple pics of the pile of stuff i just got off Zach (91LTDProject)

So far i have put a msd blaster ignition coil , a k/n air filter
Today i got the HO upper intake with the spacer and the throttle body installed, I will post some more pics up of the install shortly.

I don't think it's the same one because i think he had his HO on his vic when it was there. I don't really remember, anyway here are some pics from my new HO upper intake going in.

      Here are the parts

      the victim of my surgery

      tho original

      Chestnuts roasting on a open 3 0 2oooo

Vacuumed out the nest, and there's my ratchet set that Zach decided to run over, lol jokin bud.

My ugly ass exhaust manifolds, it is what i want to replace next with a new exhaust system

      more fun

      bling bling bolts, fun fun

      pretty much back together

Casualties! not so fun, the stinkin cover plate is now on with just one screw

finish just before it start pissing rain

      Next for the engine;
I want to redo the exhaust, I am thinking about getting some shorty ceramic headers with 2.5 pipes. Also as a daily driver i really enjoy how smooth and quiet the car is so i just want to get the quietest hi flow muffler that i can, but I also want to rip it at the same time, so i have been thinking about getting some electric cut outs, thinking Alot. Other than that I am also planning on getting the E7's ported out, I'm not so sure yet and probably won't happen for a while.

Platform: The swaybar i have to get installed, also i have a class II and a class III bolt on hitches at home, i want to install the class 2 on this car, which means i am going to have to get the rear suspension done which maybe then I'll so a disc conversion at the same time, but that also won't happen for a long time.

Exterior; Thinking about gettting a light tint the same all around like 30%, One day I'll get her repainted.

              canada+metal = rust.

well i haven't spotted any huge huge issues yet, my drivers door i think is gonna need a replacement because the bottom of it is looking like shit, Zach stuck his hand in that area where the A/C drains into and he said it wasn't too bad, i don't use the A/C at all. im pretty sure Find some later on as i work on this car, I am gonna predict that there will be alot hidden. I hate rust and i suck with dealing with it, i clean and clean and prime but it comes back.
I am looking around for a cabinet sandblaster and am trying to make some room for some shelves in my shop and once i get that done i am going to be cleaning/paint up parts like crazy on the lincoln and to whatever i work on on the merk. And it doesn't help that the place where i work on my cars is on a gravel road :P

the Explorer upper actually is marginally better than the tubular in terms of the torque, something about the internal structure more evenly distributing the air. Its not really significant either way, just the tubular costs about 2x as much.

Thats not an EGR copmpatible intake, at least the lower isn't. If you need to run EGR, you'll need to get creative with a valve off a 94-95 Mustang or something, and weld a bung onto the header for EGR feed. You'll also need a proper spacer to fit up to the upper intake, usually the Lightning one is the spacer of choice to get a proper seal and provide mounting points for the stock throttle brackets. Ideally you also want the Explorer throttle body, since its 65mm. Similar mods to get the throttle lever swapped as for the HO throttle body, nothing major.

The other thing you need is more motor to put under that. Explorer intake on a stock engine is way overkill.

ok i won't bother with the funky tubular ones, so is there something that would be the next step up from them?

anyway i have decided that i am not going to put these on this car. i am getting a beater for the winter and Just going to keep the merk as a once and a while cruiser, i have lots of storage to keep it at my farm and maybe restore it one day.But now i am looking at pre-89 crown vics, black n chrome, slicktop if i can find one and rebuilt a nice engine for it, that one was sold before i phoned him and was just what i was looking for. if i get a car that's over 20 yo we don't need the emmisions in Ontario.
So if i get one will i still need the lightning spacer if i don't need emmisions pass or is there anything else that would fit on it?
                    thanks
                    -kev

also the explorer we were taking these out of looked like one of the 97+models,with the gt40p's. i don't know why i didn't check out the year while i was there but i am gonna go back and check it out what should i be asking to pay for them?,

he was a bit pricey on the intake and i ended up paying less than half what he wanted for it and how do i know if they are in good shape
                    some pics of it Here

                    thanks again

commence starting of operation stop thes fecking leaks!

thanks, if you look close there are a few little rust spots so i need to stop daily drivin :P

                          what i been up to

                          Brakes
                          -fix rear brake line.

-overhauled front calipers, needed new pads really bad, when i took the calipers off the freaking pistons were in pieces, i managed to find a decent set of calipers on a 89 gmq LS at the tiniest scrap yard in town, got a new grill too, overhauled em according to the instructions in my Hanes manual, wasn't hard at all, make sure the piston has a cushion to hit when they pop out or else they break. Was too broke to get rotors.
When i was bleeding the lines, got my championship weight lifter brother on the pedal helping me, pressed so god damn hard he blew a line in the rear, so that weekend i spent my last 100 bux, I bought a flare kit from napa(the cheaper ones at Canadain tier are SHIT) and taught myself how to make brake lines by watching youtube vids. Better than the line breaking while driving. Also learned that there is an oddball fiting on the block that is on the axle, so you have to save that fitting and reuse it, by drilling out the old line out of it and putting the fitting in the new one. Learned alot and got broke that weekend.

valve covers are done, got felpro permadry. CAr is still leaking oil, i need to change my oil pan cuz it is starting to get rusty, everything underneath is saturated in something from the front to the cats, I believe that's mostly because i spill alot from topping up PS an oil every week. Power steering is leaking like crazy, i think it might be a bad hose connection, noticed one and only 1 bolt on transmission pan has something red on it, but i have never needed to top it up. I just degreased everything, will start and check where exactly the leaks are coming from hopefully tomorrow, My brother comes back from greece and have to give up his beater truck ive been borrowing on Saturday.
I will try to only put up smaller and less pics unless detail is needed from now on
