Lol, nope, took me about 20 min. to get it off, just take a monkey wrench, or a 1-1/8" wrench.

Welp, I got the heater hose tube thingy on today, i think it makes the engine bay look alot more organized, and more "show-worthy" lol. The only problem was my gigantic HEI dist. hit it just a tiny bit, so i took the Die-Grinder to it , it fits perfectly now.

I also got a breather for it, finally, we also had to grind that a bit.

There is a few Before/After pics in there.

      so, enjoy the pics .

That is annoying how the tube assembly hits a HEI body. I assume you ground only on the top of the unnecessary big hex thing at the end of the tube that could just as easily be round and lower profile for all the functionality the hex adds?

Other questions: What's the story with the hat-style induction plumbing, and where do you have your d/s PCV valve vented to? (looks like the p/s also has a PCV valve, and that's vented to manifold vacuum at the base of the carb?)

yea, what sux, i noticed the cap wouldnt go on right, after I put it all together lol, but i only ground off about a 1/8" if that and it fit perfectly.

The "hat" breather came off of something at the junkyard ... i dunno what it was, but i noticed it, and thought it would fit my merc...It does with a little help lol, but it is the only one i have found that will fit, and clear the HEI.

Ughhh...you just had to bring up that valve...lol

heres the story, just a few days ago, i was driving, then it just started to smoke, and smoke, and smoke some more...the oil was blowing out of the cap on the VC and going all over the exhaust...so i put on a different VC cap with a tube to route the oil to not smoke so bad...
I also put a oil/water seperator to stop oil from goin everywhere...then, that built up too much pressure, and blew my dipstick out about a 1/4" and was blowin oil all over my exhaust again. :nonono:

So, it ends up my rings are shot...im guessin it broke one since it just started to do it out of nowhere.

But, I changed the oil, but found no metal, i also added some "Engine Restore", hopefully that fixes it, but im not crossing my fingers.

And if i have to rebuild the engine, I'm goin 351

Naw, The engine will probably have to be pulled soon anyways, I noticed in the last month or so, the rear main started to leak too

If it does not go away soon, or the smoking go away.

There will be a 351 dropped between the framerails.

Yea, i really like how its kinda hidden. It tucks away very nicely, now you need one. lol

Welp, My dad thinks he might know what started causing the build up in pressure, besides broken/worn rings. He thinks the PCV valve on the P/S VC went bad/clogged, so he went to ford and picked up the propper one.

Gonna put this on tonight, hopefully that might fix it.

How much was that Motorcraft? I had nothing but a rattling vaccum leak from my PCV before I temporarily plugged it off in favor of a breather. I do need to do more reading about PCV systems ....

It cost $12 at ford, it's supposed to be an exact replacement to the original.

Yea, i dont now that much about how the PCV sytems works or anything either, but hopefully it works, but i dont know

Thanks Mang, just from reading your RR page, you have helped me out ALOT on my merc, I just got done doing something else that i seen on your page

And here is what I just got done with today, my Dad and I made some fender support things that you see on wagons out of 1" steel, and we also got some frame stabalizer things from a towncar.

with those together, it stiffend up the car a bit, and made a big difference in cornering.

Here are some pics of what we made, it wasnt that hard, just need the right tools and some muscle

                              Enjoy.

Not bad! Fairly easy to make, too.

Odd that your frame braces are both straight ... one of mine has a bend in it that seems to make it line up with the mounting holes just right. I found that the four-door rode a good deal smoother after installing those four braces off the wagon!
