    New daily driver....

    Hello again, Gang...
    This is the new daily driver.

    2000 Ford Ranger shortbed, 3.0 V6 Vulcan engine, 4R55E automatic tranny (Ford rebuilt), who only knows what rearend gear ratio, A/C, factory Ford CD player (we rebuild Ford and GM radios, along with General Motors instrument clusters), a bunch of miles, contractor aluminum canopy, Jeep Cherokee Sport wheels (I installed those, I wanted something nice, but incredibly easy to keep clean), drives excellent. I may actually keep this one for a while.

    Looks clean. I'd have that cap full of shit in no time!

        Not bad, not bad...

        don't like the wheels though. I prefer the steelies with the center caps. W/T style.

            Looks nice Larry, but I personally would take the cap off (unless you have a direct use for it). This is replacing the Mustang? If you keep it up, you may just have as many cars in your yard as my family...

            The B'rd is staying around too, correct? Thats just a weekend warrior?

              The cap is coming off tomorrow. My kids love it, for some strange reason (if you close them up in it, they seriously can't get out), but it's extra weight, and produces one hell of a blind spot on the right side. I want it off.

              It's supposed to replace the Mustang...but the mustang hasn't sold yet.

              The T-bird? My wife is driving it right now. I may take it to work tomorrow. But I don't want to put a shitload of miles on the car, not yet, anyway. I am still deliberating what to do with it, but I want to fix a couple of things that are annoying the hell out of me when I drive it, first thing being the front seats that are sitting up at least 6 inches too high, causing me to have to lean the seat way back, making me ape-hang my arms to reach the steering wheel. Since I have a 22" or so bicep, those same arms aren't exactly a lightweight set to keep stretched straight out. If I drive it, the seats will have to go....but the pain in the ass is that my wife absolutely loves those seats, and loves driving the car. I may just end up giving it to her to drive for now, and buy a Mustang Cobra or something else for myself. The MN12 T-bird is a bit of a pain in the ass to modify for more power, with speed parts costing double and triple that of Mustang parts, if they are even available. However, if I get my wife another minivan, I get the T-bird back. My uncle is supposed to be dropping off his 1989 AstroVan Sport in the next week or two, with him giving it to us (it needs something fixed, and he's tired of it...it's really a nice van, rare option package).

              I do know one thing: I can't sell the T-bird for ANY reason, as the wife and kids will kill me if I do. I don't want to sell it, but it isn't an option anyway, lol.

                Damn that's a tiny cab, how you gonna fit in that? Dunno, maybe I've been spoiled by having a Panther and only fullsize trucks, but it really looks small in there. Other than that it looks like a nice truck, wheels fit it well too. Post a few pics when you take the cap off.

                  That was what was surprising about the truck...I fit in it. Plenty of headroom, the seat is definitely comfortable, and I have plenty of elbow room. It's still small compared to a full-size, but I can definitely live with it. Definitely an upgrade above and beyond the earlier Rangers, in addition.
                  One other note? I don't know who designed the headlights, but it's nice having a stock Ford headlight that actually works, even on wet pavement.

                  By the way? I only paid $700 for it, wheels and tires were bought from someone else.

                            Lucky dog!!!!! You got that truck cheaper than what I got my beater for, and my Ranger is eight years older. I am insanely jealous of you right now. Enjoy your truck, I have enjoyed mine and that is with a serious lack of power.
