    My 2006 Fusion *DUW warning*

I had the camera today, so I took some pics of my Ford Fusion. It's a 2006 Black on Stone 2.3l I4 with a 5-speed manual. It's what my Fiance uses to shuttle my 3 and 4 year old around. When she's done with school and working again she'll buy a car of her own and I'll probably DD this car instead of the Mark VIII. The car needs to be washed, but still looks good in the pics, due to being black I suppose.

In the second pic, you can see my friend Michael, and my 4-year old Amelia in her new booster seat. I have some vids of the car as well, but Supermotors and YouTube don't seem to want to upload them, so I'll post them later.

They are great cars, The I4 5spd combo is the best IMO.

I don't have interior shots yet really, but here are some vids from the inside:

My buddie Michael driving the Fusion for the first time. He stalled it 3 times getting to the 4-lane highway, and then again pulling out. He really does know how to drive a stick well (Just ask 1987cp or 1987LtdMasta) but the car has an on/off switch for a clutch, the engagement point varies every time you release it, and the DBW has some idiotic programming.

Fusion stalling and flaring RPMs between gears.

Here it is going from 40-65 MPH from 2nd to third. If you do not let off the gas completely about a second before you push in the clutch to shift, the engine holds onto revs furiously. If you drive a stick normally, and give it gas as you go to the next gear, you get a huge RPM flair. This car also hangs onto revs enough to negate any sort of engine braking. I'm sure it doesn't have a 200lb flywheel and it's just the ECU programming.
Fusion 2nd and 3rd to 60 MPH. RPM flare between gears.

I'll get some better vids when I don't have the kids in the car and have someone other than my Fiance in the passenger seat filming Me driving the car. Oh, and some interior pics, as well.

I have a few more pics for you mangs/mangettes taken from in the Fusion today. I also have a vid that I'll post later when it's done uploading. We decided to check out our old 'hood, as Michael and I grew up in the same subdivision. My kids were also curious where we lived as well. Our old houses really looked different. The whole place looked sad, as it is in the dead of winter. It brought back some good memories, though.

I had a chance to buy my parent's house after they divorced, for $50k under what it appraised for, but was afraid we couldn't afford the taxes, POA dues, and utilities. It was a big mistake. I noticed there were no window treatments and furniture in the home, so it might be for sale. Too bad right now's a horrible time to put my current home on the market.

I'm trying to talk my Grandma into a Fusion. It's about the only car out now by Ford that I kinda like.

                    Link no work, mang.

Looks like some wiseacres are being dingdongs with comments on the videos .... probably the same type who helpfully informed me that a 289 intake won't bolt onto a 351.

And yeah, Michael was great in his Viper. Matched revs darn near perfectly on every single downshift. My mother-in-law was telling me not to bother with that in her Aerio, but I figured out how to do it anyway because I hate the lurching. Was thinking about tossing my cookies riding with her on windy roads in Connecticut, asked to ride in the sister-in-law's rented Focus instead.

So my question is, why would Ford intentionally engineer the car so that it's impossible to drive smoothly?

I thought I turned comments off? Oops. All videos on Streetfire are now private, just for GMN viewing pleasure. I did remove the comments and sent messages to anyone who posted.

I didn't think going WOT from 40-60 MPH and short-shifting before redline was unsafe in a car that is doing 0-60 in over 12 seconds currently. Not a chance of wheelspin, or upsetting the chassis with this torque monster 2.3 liter family sedan The car is several seconds of the pace of even an automatic Fusion so I don't know WTF is wrong with this less than 1 year old car.

                      Here's a new link:
                      http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/...y/media/607802
I deleted pictures of our old childhood homes due to some disturbing messages I received, which screwed up the link. Nice world we live in, eh?

Just to make things clear, my friend Michael knows his way around a manual. Our Fusion has been acting up ever since an oil change at the dealer, which had the car over 4 hours for this. I don't know if they took the car out for a thrash due to it being a manual trans, or they uploaded a new ECU tune while it was there. My Fiance wasn't shifting very smoothly, and after I tried out the car I wasn't any better. So, I had a friend drive it, and he was pretty bad as you can see. I disconnected the battery over night, and things seem smoother, and this tank's MPGs seem to have jumped, however the RPM holding by the ECU is worse, and the clutch still acts like someone burned the hell out of it as it's still an on/off switch.

Ah, working picter goodness! Looks like a real nice area out there, hopefully still a bit cheaper than near Fran Lin and 45th in Munster.

It's about the same, unfortunately. My Mom now lives a few blocks away from that intersection in Munster. Speaking of which, do you remember the go-cart/mini-golf place right off Indianapolis Boulevard (US41) and 45th? It's completely gone! There will be an "Upscale Strip Mall" going in there instead. That really sucked to see the other day.

I will have to say growing up on a lake gave us enough to do so we didn't get into trouble too much when we were young. It's good to be young and always have something to do.

(BTW I sent you a PM about the Fusion)

The Fusion is an appealing car. One of the better Ford car offerings now for sure.

However, this thread has left me more than a little disspointed. No burnouts? WTF?

In all seriousness though, I like the car, and the lake photography is nice as well.
