this is really fucked now. the car runs great when ideling and has lots of balls but, when running at 3500RPM and higher in park, the damn headers glow red hot. i cant figure out why its dumping fuel like crazy. the big thing is that i might have fucked up on miss comunication, will having the wrong upper intake plenum make it run fine but rich? i gadda figure this shit out now. what to i have to do to make the HO upper work with its backwards vac tree?

after doing some reaserch on here, it seems like i do need the HO upper. if running a lopo upper, would the engine run so rich but fine at the same time? im very stressed at this point and would like to fix this prob.

red headers is usually a lean mix, or late timing. Check your fuel pressure and timing settings. I'd also use the correct HO upper since the lopo one is more restrictive. It will start to starve for air at higher RPMs, so it could be a contributing factor. It will definitely cost you some power if nothing else.

i thought a lean condition at first too but, you cant stand next to the tail pipe with out noticing your eyes stinging, thats what made me say rich running. im gonna throw a good spare regulator on that i have and see what happens. another funnything is with the probe in the pipe and engine running, the numbers drop if you disconnect a injector or 2 lol

That makes sense to me. Less fuel going in - less waste coming out.
