    the lower hinge is very worn. the replacement one has no signs of wear.

    is that beacuse of the black center? i dont think i have ever seen the wire lincoln ones in 14 inch?

        oh thoes.... i sort fo have some of thoes.... i wasnt sure if they would look good on a merc so i was trying to swap them for some merc turbines lol

          go with the lincoln wire spokes......they were a 1100 dollar option on the townys in the 80's

          1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
          2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
          1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.

              ummmmm no, lol im having a brain fart right now but iirc it uses counter sunk torx bit bolts...smell it yet?lol

                  So I have decided to make the cp into a 82 clone to look more like the black 81 wagon i have. Here are some pics of stuff that I have done to her today and lastnight with dave84 and billmarq. Sorry i dont know why these pics turned out a bit fuzzy... batteries maybe getting low

                  Ther front springs are done in both side and she sits nice now

                  Removed the third brakelight



                  switched the steering wheel center and converted the horn button to the signat arm

                          Dude ... that looks great! I need at least one, preferably two of those early multifunction switches, and eventually a nicer wheel center as well. Where'd you get yours?

                                Did you need to do any re-wiring, for the early MFS? I have one I wanted to install in my Vic, but I wasn't sure if it would just work, or what.
