Thanks man. I posted it for anyone else who wants to see the last cruise. I have vids from when it was running better, just click the link in my sig, if you have not done so already. The car needs a complete tune-up and also new valvesprings, carb rebuild and tune, another new fuel pump, and some distributor tweaking. Sadly, I have new cam/lifters/timing chain/gaskets ready to go, but need to get the car on the road legally.

So you drive that thing all over the place with no plates? I've done that a couple times.

I purchased a few temp tags, a 96 hour one, and a 30 day one, after the tags expired. I live a few minutes away from the local police station, and drive by another on my daily commute, so I'm cautious on driving without proper tags.

For being "Porno" red, most ladies were far from removing their clothes in that car, LOL. There was a smooth song in the soundtrack for Lost Highway that I thought might work, but I was wrong. Way wrong.

I have a bucket seat car (seats from a 2004); mine was originally a split bench (velour). My '88 was originally a full power bench (vinyl), which I converted to buckets (like TL's, but blue velour). My Dad's car is a bucket seat car...

From what little I can tell, the nice nonadjustable ones like Greg's seem to be damn near nonexistant. Closest thing to those I've sat in were probably Mustang II vinyl buckets, and those are among the rarer seats I've actually seen for sale.

Maybe it's these particular buckets that are a dieing breed? They are identical visually to Tempo buckets, but feel quite different. Having the recline-delete fixed frame has probably saved the car the embarrassment of having a broken seat back, which is very common for mid-late 80's Fords it seems. This was before the popular "Gangsta Lean" unfortunately for Ford's used car sales to the ethnic population. I have been rear-ended hard by a Taurus once, and the seat back held.

P72Ford, do you have any pics of your Brother's buckets? Doesn't Nathan in MN have P72 buckets as well?

Totally ... the fixed backs seemed to me to be a tremendous deal stronger than reclining models. And I know first-hand how Ford seatbacks can let loose in a rear-end collision.

Have you sat in Nathan in MN's car? He doesn't like them so much. I have to tell you, of all the cars I have had, these buckets seem to be fatigue-free for me during long stints behind the wheel. I sat in the passenger side of the Subie today, and had problems on a 5-mile trip to dinner.

Nate's are quite a bit different than yours. Aside from materials and padding, I remember them having the recline feature and the driver's seatback sagging to the right (though he keeps babbling something about not spending much time in the back seat ........).

i think the seats depended on the area......about 12 yrs ago when the ny box taxis were gettin scrapped like crazy i saw about 30 identical ones at harrys with tan vinyl bucket seats......havent seen a one in the u-pull-it yards since.....so i'm assuming it was a fleet thing

the seat in 84 vic was shot about a yr after i got it.....let one of my tall big friends use it and the seatback got bent so i couldnt drive it.....i got a set of power seats from a 82 grand marquis and put those in
