My Vic's Interior. Beware Dial-Up Users!

Some of you guys have asked to see the interior of my Vic. Here it is, taken at night with a harsh flash. It looks much better in the day under natural light. I am in the middle of installing a stereo in the car, and goofed on the front speakers. The new speakers need a trim piece for the grilles before you install the drivers. That's why the grilles are absent. The interior could use a good vacuum and wipedown, and I'm now noticing the seat handles/brackets could use some fresh black paint. Also, the floormats used to match the interior, but have faded severely. Other than that it's pretty much how it looked 11 years ago, and how it looks when I'm driving around in it.

Weird to reply to my own thread like this, but I never really noticed my front belts are a different color compared to the rest of the interior. Anyone else have this or know why? I can understand the female side due to the bucket seats, but why the belts themselves?

Seems to be around here. This car is the only one I've seen like it. No boxes with buckets in the JYs around here.

The plastic supports would probably just flake off the paint I imagine. The grey really doesn't bother me though, just thought it was odd. I agree, there does need to be something between the buckets. I used to have my red fire extinguisher mounted down there, but now it's in the trunk. With all these 3-pedal boxes cruising around, the itch for a manual is getting worse every month.

Duplicolor makes a Vinyl and Fabric paint..works great for that material...I used it for my dash, worked great.

Very nice. My brother has those exact seats in his '88, except the cloth is velour. They're nice, and pretty comfortable too. Very clean inside for an old cop car. Original carpet?

I asked my Dad about those style seats (since he used to do some work for a leasing place that prepped cuisers for the CT state police.) He says the seats were not all that rare. According to him a fair number of cars came with them. However, most departments didn't like the seats, and cars so equipped were returned to a local ford dealer, where the seats were replaced with a bench/ split bench, etc.

I don't know why departments wouldn't appreciate them. Most newer cop cars have buckets now anyway.

Those buckets are NICE. Love the red interiors on these, hopefully someday I'll be one with this crowd.

Maybe the seatbelts were replaced at one point in time??
