Ported is the first one, the one you're using now. Manifold vacuum is more load resistant than anything else, it allows you to have a nice idle and low rpms while still not getting any detonation when it loads up. You can run either way really, just have to do adjust the carb accordingly. With performance applications it seems common to use ported vacuum (tis what MSD and Holley suggest usually), but my stock Q-jet was set up from the factory for a manifold vacuum dizzy hookup so that's what I'm using right now, I do switch from one to the other from time to time to see which one will give me better fuel economy and more power, but haven't figured it all out yet - just ran my open cranckase evacuation lines (kinda like PCV only without the PCV itself), it seems to have cured my oil burn problem and improved idle and low-rpm quality (I know it don't make a whole lot of sense, but that's exactly what happened), so I gotta adjust for the extra fuel needed cause of it and try again - I drive one day with one setup, adjust stuff, drive again a day, adjust again, and so on till I get it right, or at least close to right. By the way there have been at least two threads on the ported vs. manifold vacuum advance, do a search for them.

I know I know...I'll be workin on it.

Grant does make a Merc emblem horn button for that steering wheel...I had it on there...I just couldnt stand it tho...instead of being black and silver liek pretty much all the Merc emblems you see, it was some ghey magenta...in sunlight and any light, it looked pink..so, that went bye bye.

                              Looking good!

For a horn button, a member on mm.net made up little Mercury gods head stickers that would cover up the ford emblem on your steering wheel. I have one on mine to cover up the waterfall.

Ill see if I can come up with who did them and if they have anymore. It was only like $1.50 per sticker.
