I'll have to spend part of a day and clean up this engine bay...

Thanx to DC Customs for Buildin' My Ride!

y'all might notice that the speedo's Odometer is still at 1mile...well...the speedo cable was not able to be hooked up...so until I get that new cable, I have no Speedo.

Liking the gauges. Awesome, man. Can you get a night shot so we can see the illumination?

I just have a serious look is all Dave.
plus...the total bill came out to be $2808 not like $2100 like I imagined...after calculating for all the odds N ends they had to get and adding on for the gauge install with materials and everything...it was another $1408.

Looks good. I wish it would have kicked down so I could hear the cam at regular idle. Nice though.

Might want to adjust that high idle down a bit before serious winter temps hit. I'll be waiting for some of your vids patiently.

You're right about cleaning up the underhood. Its rather dirty right now. Now that its carbed, and you don't have all that electrical crap, you should just wash it down really well. Bag the alt. and the dist. and then go at it. Also, get some wire looms for those plug wires. That should neaten them up. The engine looks and sounds sweet. The shifter is alot nice than I thought too. Enjoy it.

Also, you used the Lokar set up to use the AOD w/ the carb? Ask your uncle how that was to set up.

                        here's the other video...

yea, it idles high at first...as my uncle explained
since it has the electric choke...it takes a min to warm up..so it idles at about 2K at first...after a min or so, I pump the gas and it goes down to about 900rpm...then in gear its like 700...and it lopes in gear.

I just took it for another ride, sorry I havent responded in so long...oh gawd its great...worth every penny!

yea, Dave, it totalled to $2808.
but if I calculate up the entire cost with all the parts...it would be higher for sure.

lemme go take a pic of the gauges lit...

                          Colin, looking at that pic:

you should be real happy you ain't got no t-handle - that shifter is way off to the right, don't remember if you tried the megashifter in my truck, but I found it extremely uncomfortable to reach and move, till I switched the T-handle with an 8-ball - ah, heaven on earth, much much much better feel. How easy is yer B&M to reach all the way there?

Other than that... the empty space between and above the tach and speedo looks like a damn good location for installing a shift light What color do the gauges light up in? And, how does it feel?

P.S. the tug-o-war challenge is still standing
