If you've got stock rockers on there with stock mounting hardware, it probably wasn't machined for studs. Normally the hole in the head where the rocker bolts down would be enlarged for the larger stud (3/8" vs 5/16" for pedestal). If for some reason it wasn't enlarged, you'd end up with the stock rockers way over tight because the material that gets machined off for the guide plates. Basically the valves would never close fully, probably wouldn't run, or at least not very well. You'd be able to tell by checking the preload on the lifters. Once the rocker hits zero lash, it should be about 1/2-1 turn on the ratchet from zero lash to torque on the rockers. I think the proper torque value is 20 or 25 ft/lb. If its more than 1 turn, the valves aren't going to shut properly, which will burn the valves and result in incredibly poor power till you burn the valves and need to have the heads rebuilt. Ask your uncle to check the lifter preload to ensure its correct.

The E7 heads that are on my car had the stud kit that Scott linked to on it when I got them...I just took the studs out and put my stock rockers on there because it was what I had. Seemed to work fine, so I don't know that there's any difference in how they're machined. Unless I'm misunderstanding your meaning, Thain.

                  *UPDATE* 1:15pm EST

I called my uncle and nearly everything is done and it will be ready friday nite for sure.
the motor is running, the floor shifter is in and the gauges are laid out and set inside the dash.
all that remains is wiring up the gauges.

and the car has been driven once, so it does run just fine.

                              no, I wasnt there.:nonono:
he misled me/I misunderstood last week when he told me to bring the Radiator over so he could install it.
I thought the motor was ready to fire then, but I was mistaken.
I will get videos as soon as I get it.

lol, Ivan...yea, I would die of starvation after 2 years.
