Ok, so I'm gonna try something new with the Tank's headlights.
I wanted to try something, since I have 2 extra pairs of headlights in the basement.
Zach and I were talking at the meet and came up with some ideas that I think I'm gonna go with.
The lens has been separated and will be sanded and buffed.
So, I'm converting the housing from 9006 bulbs to 9007, which have a highbeam incorporated into it. The bulbs will be in the outside part of the housing.
The inside, will house an amber LED for a running light/turn signal, which will be moved up from the bumper. The remainder of the inside of the housing, in non-critical parts, will be painted black.
The running lights/ turn signals in the bumper will become white LED fog lights. Maybe.
I need to finish the housing first and then see if I need fog lights or not. Or add brake ducting. Not sure.
The best part is that most of these parts are lying around.
Full write up to follow once it's complete.
If you should ever sell TOJ II, it will probably create an internet myth or something like that. Some poor soul will end up taking that car apart to find TOJ II stamped on the parts and think they are some one-off special order part A lot of benchracing will ensue and it will snowball from there. LOL
Idler arm is in. The headlights are going to be an ongoing project. Not important, but they will be done.
Been out in the garage sand blasting and powder coating. I actually had some time to work on my motor last night. Soon enough, it will be ready.
Until then, rock on.
Ok,
I have a metric ton of parts powder coated for the motor. All the hardware, including bolts, and brackets are done as well. All the large components are lime green, and the hardware and everything else is satin black. Its a pretty cool color combo. I'm finally starting to assemble all these assemblies and sub-assemblies (the external oil cooler was a PITA!) and such, getting ready to drop it in soon.
The 75mm throttle body is on the way.
The C&L Plenum will follow after the install to make sure that everything works as advertised.
Also, I will be punching out the remaining 2 catalytic converters for more gooderness.
I was thinking about pulling a page out of the box book and trying the Impala SS tail pipes on the Tank.
I need to get this motor in because the sooner I finish it, the sooner I can rebuild the transmission in the Marauder and maybe get to the blower this year.
We're planning on going to the Marauderville X meet in Michigan this September, so I have a little bit of time to try and get all this work done.
Most of it is trying to find time to do it.
I should have some pics up later of powder coated stuff.
Ciao.
+31 hp, better shifts, better handling and braking, +45 ft/lbs torque, plus it makes the lights wig-wag. You should know that
I am going to powder coat the cop chip. It will make it stronger. Your capacitors and resistors don't stand a chance.
