More progress.
Took the wiper cowl off. Disconnected most of the harness and drained a good chunk of coolant.
I plan on getting the Tank on jack stands, and taking the belly pan off, and try and get some shit done.

I feel for you on dropping gas tanks. Had to do it on several cars....never is easier.

One time I did it 5 times in one day, just to get it home.

I'd say it's not to bad, once you get a system down.

Did more work.
Drive shaft is out, oil drained, coolant drained, Tank on jack stands, engine harness removed, intake manifold removed.
Tomorrow I'm going to try and remove the oil cooler, belly, pan, and start disconnecting stuff underneath. It would be kinda cool to see the motor out of the car some time this weekend.

I ended up taking the belly pan off yesterday.
That's it.
But, I should be able to get under it tonight, for sure.
Maybe take the exhaust out.

I got the oil cooler and lines removed, along with the power steering pump.
Progress is good.

I'm going to make an effort tonight.
Plans are to disconnect the starter, transmission cooler lines, and shift linkage.
Also, get to the exhaust as well.
If that all pans out, this combo might be on it's way out of the car shortly. And by shortly, I mean this weekend.

Shift linkage off.

Transmission is drained, and mount is disconnected.
Installed the load leveler and removed the transmission dipstick.
It's ready to come out.

End of year update

Well, I drove it a total of 105 miles. On a blown motor because the Town Car was F'd and I needed to get to work.
It started with 225,038 and ended with 225,142. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Ok, Business time,


Stuff I wanted to get done:
-Finish building the Teksid PI motor.
-Get new rubber for the summer tires
-Class 3 trailer hitch
-Tune?
-Drive the piss out of it.

What I accomplished:
-



Buying a new home, having another kid, and going back to college, among other stuff, really limits my time.

But now I sold the Town Car, I have something that can tow with style, and it's time to focus in on my cars.

I am NOT going to use that Teksid block for the tank. The WAP block is even lighter, even though it's not as strong. I'm going for lightness with this build. So, I'll get a used WAP-blocked motor, swap over my good parts and carry on. Progress is already happening.

PLANS FOR THE YEAR:
- Put a new WAP PI motor in.
- Install the new harness and PCM and make it all work.
- New windsheld
- Get some summer rubber
- Fix the exhaust
- Drive the shit out of it.
- Break 250k


That's whats going on.
