The valvebody is now functioning properly after a hole drilled into a certain channel in the valve body. And then it went straight to Scotts. Haha.
The car is now parked on the property awaiting body mounts, big brakes, ABS, frame rot and body rot repairs, undercoating and paint prep. When I dropped the car off last Friday, we managed to harvest a very clean passenger side B pillar, which you can see towards the end of the video that I'm going to post. We would've had a very clean and straight passenger quarter panel, however the batteries for the sawzall ran out of juice.
So while the work is getting done I'm driving Scott's 92 Grand Marquis around. And as much as I love this car... I miss mine

Hey that is all fantastic. Your car already ran like a champ. Now it will look like one to. ABS, I am jealous but hey, hopefully I will follow along that path as time and life permits. We installed the later rear with tone rings on the axles and big brakes up front so that much is done.

        Good show man.

Update #1: B Pillar is out, drilled out from spot welds. Looking like the rotting was caused by the vinyl top... yay.

Since this video, the new B pillar is now welded into place. Probably next on the list is to fix the rot in the floor which involves removing the rest of the interior. Then the trunk, quarter panel, frame, body mounts, undercoating, then the abs/big brakes stuff.

Interesting stuff. I couldn't tell, is there any cutting or just drilling of spot welds to pop the B pillar off?
What do the rust that was showing through look like?

the b pillar was cut and seamed just below the vinyl top. the original seam is up near the roof, the rest of the spot welds were just drilled out.
the outside of the old b pillar was rusted thru, there were several pinholes.
next step after the b pillar is primed and painted is repairing the floors, here is a preview of one side of that mess.

                      Dear Scott,
Many/most/all these old boxes have rust issues. When American Hotrod builds a car, they routinely cut out the floor and replace it with fresh metal. Could this be done with some of our cars?

Yes, but you can't buy new sheet metal. You'd have to sacrifice a rust-free car.

I have a set of nice rust free salvaged front pan sheet metal for a 90-91 if anybody needs it. At first I got the wrong year pans for my 89 so these are left over.

We would benefit from unmolested floor panels. Kinda wish I didn't fix pinky for the derby. Asshole Jason (you guys know which one)... Thanks Scott and Ivan! So much done even in such a short amount of time.
