remove the nut and the cotter pin, make sure the shock is still in place. hit the spindle hard with a big hammer to release the ball joint stud

If you got those ball joint forks, use them. I use them to get the tie rods off as well. I tried using a hammer on Putter Project, but they're (spindle and ball joint stud) rusted together.

Well Matt succeeded and yesterday dropped off the spindles, hubs, upper control arms and the JBL head unit yesterday. And in return I gave him Vicky's old engine (which needs some TLC before it'll ever run again). A parts list of stuff to get new and from the yard. Some stuff for his SEFI swap.

Took Vicky to the diner yesterday so me and Matt could eat, it was his treat *I love free food haha*

Forgot to mention that I also added an Autodimming rearview mirror with a compass. It is completely wired up including the reverse mirror shut off (the mirror undims in reverse at night).

I got two decent used ABS axles (thanks Scott and Thain) for the disc K code rear end, and scott ordered me a bearing kit for the guts of the differential.
Thanks to the help of Scott, Ivan, and Larry for helping me get the extra clutch added to my carrier.
Now all I gotta do is replace the bearings, get new axle bearings and seals, and reassembly can start. Then I can put it in the car! I'm looking forward to that since the howling bearings aren't getting any quieter.

I need a set too. If you come across an additional clean set, I would be happy to take them off of your hands. Name your price, I suppose.

You go to the JYs alot more than I do, and these cars are more common where you guys go.

Excellent forward progress on the car.

I hear ya. Though shipping that stuff would be a bitch. So if you're coming to SF I could return the favor from back in '08 with the exhaust pieces haha!

I'm wondering if '88+ vic trunk carpeting is the same, since they are more common in the yards around me in Jersey.

hey John, where did you tap that reverse shut off wire for your mirror? I knew the mirrors were capable of it but didn't know we could do that with our cars.

Drivers side kick panel, taped up in a harness, a black wire with a pink stripe. That's the backup light wiring. There's also a connector under the dash. But I wasn't feeling that ambitious...

In other news, if you've been following other threads of mine, you would know that I have harvested an ABS system from a (figured it out today) 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis. 98% complete ABS wiring harness (including fuse box), brake pedal assembly, hydraulic control unit, brake booster and master cylinder. Granted, the ABS will not be installed until after big brakes. I may install the harness just so I can have the fuse box, because I'm tired of the damn clusterfuck on the starter solenoid.

                        Sexcellent!!!
I got the side clears in the mail from Pete today! I put them in the nice bezels. And then put them back in my room. I don't think I'm gonna install them until I get the car painted.
