I still need to take care of the rot. Why would I waste money on primer when I'm not ready for it?

My original one did not have that. That pull down is from an '88, they may all have had that and it faded away, the 88 was a non smoker car, whereas mine was.

Well. I guess it's time for an update.

            Car is being kinda meh.
When I went up to Skippyville the last time, the wipers decided to break on it.
It was revealed later, when we had gotten back from SoF, that the retaining clip that holds the motor to the transmission broke. It broke due to a collection of dirt, leaves and the like, plus frozen water. I cleaned out the stuff, which felt like about 10 pounds of shit, and now the water drains, as it should. Thain came up with a wiper clip. And installed the new one for me. Thanks Thain!

In my last day, I finally got the courage to swap the front drivers door from Val's wrecked '89. A few differences I noted, there's only one hole in the door, for the wiring harness to come out, whereas my door had 2. The hole is bigger on the '89 so I couldn't use the conduit from my old door. So I needed to swap that also. So after a long fight with that, the drilling of the 3 holes to pull my power window motor out, and the adventure of swapping the door lock actuator holder, and some help from Skippy holding the door as I started the hinge bolts, I had a new door. Here are some pics of it at home.

Also have a pic of the K code rear, when I first got it. Also some pictures of things to come for Vicky, after she gets painted.

I still have to buy the side lenses from Petemang, then I'll have a complete set

Will all efforts go into prepping the car for paint next?

Efforts will go in this order.

Here's what I'd like to do.

Replacement of B pillar on passenger's side.

Replacement of the bottom part of passenger's side quarter panel.

                    Rust removal/repair and undercoating.

Rebuilding and installation of K code rear

All new gaskets for transmission (partly cause it's leaking, and partly to figure out
which drive gear my trans has for the speedometer).

Big Brake Swap (possibly also ABS)

                    New exhaust setup.

Aquiring the last door I need, I'd prefer a vent window car.

Vinyl top removal, prep for new top

                    Have top installed.

Pull windshield and take care of the rust forming behind it.

                    New windshield.

Final alignment of body panels and finishing of body work.

Buy primer and paint and all that fun stuff.

                    Get this bitch painted.

                    Shiny Trim on.

Now how this actually will work out, who knows?

Step by step keep knocking stuff of the list and it will all be done before you know it.

All of this depends on funds, and space in the shop...

So your vicky is pretty rusty I'm guessing? I never realized how much I love these cars until I realized all the body modifications you can do to eliminate rust so it's never really a problem Good luck though!

It's better than most I've seen, the B pillar rot just scares me though. I might, if I'm aloud to, cut the passenger side b pillar from val's wrecked '89.

2 holes for the harness to run through on an 86? You mean 2 accordion things? What the heck would they do that for, that doesn't even make sense.
