You've done a nice job fixing her up. I usually rip my hood liners off.

I would've if it was in bad shape, but this thing is really good. So I thought, why not?

Updates I guess. Vicky is getting lower intake gaskets tomorrow. She has a nice leak at the back of the top of the motor that was agravated from the PCV screen being clogged. She's getting a new power steering pump and hoses sometime soon as well, due to another leak.

John where exactly did you route the mechanical gauge wiring (water temp coil and oil pressure line) through the fire wall?

Not sure if you noticed or not, but you have a Mercury Bumper on Vicky now, lol.

Yes, I did notice that, I was looking at an old picture of Vicky and I saw that the blocks were closer together on the new bumper than my old bumper. The gauges were ran through the existing hole in the firewall where the cruise control wiring and vacuum line comes through. The intake gaskets were a success! The leak is gone, and I just did an oil change and fuel filter. The fuel filter hasn't been changed in at least 8 years. And as soon as I put it on I noticed that the car was a little more responsive at the throttle. And if my tripminder isn't playing tricks on me, slightly better fuel economy.

Really? Ok, you want the actual thing? You have cruise control right? Follow the harness and hose down the firewall from the cruise servo on the drivers side fenderwell. that's the hole.

ok i will check it out. I know that i am already using a grommet that is HARD to reach from underneath the dash but pops out right below the cowl on the drivers side.

I was planning on doing that, but I decided it was too much work for what it was worth, what's more, if I ever needed to pull the speedometer, I couldn't because the mechanical temp gauge would limit me to how far I could pull it out. If you plan on doing this, I would recommend electrical gauges and fabricate pigtails for them for easy removal.
