Nice wagon mang. Wag's make good projects cause you can go to the junkyard and haul a sedan back in the cargo area. I want some 3.42's! Does it have the towing package?

All 302 (and 255 for '81+'82) US-bound Ford and Merc Panthers got the 7200 VV. 351W cars (including Lincolns) from 1979-1980 used a Motorcraft 2150. 1981+ 351W cars got VV's. Cars bound for markets outside the US used a 2150.

The MCU indicates your car had a VV carb, only installed on US cars. The MPH speedo indicates US. The 2 in the VIN is for all cars made in Canada, not nessesarily for Canada. The sticker says something along the lines of "Canadian Transport." My '82 was ordered as a dealer demo for Magic City Ford in Roanoke, Virginia. It has always been a US car. It has a VIN that starts with 2 and the Canadian Transport Sticker. I think your car is a US car that has been refitted with one of the rare AOD compatible 2150's (rare in the US anyway). It a common thing to do if you can locate one.

From 1979-1984, Ford and Merc Panthers were produced in St. Louis, Missouri and Oakville, Ontario. In 1985, production moved to St. Thomas, making all Ford and Merc Panthers techically imports! Lincoln Panthers were always produced at Wixom, MI until this year when they moved to St. Thomas.

Nope, no towing package but the 3.42's are nice. Seems like a good mix.

Thanks for the pics Scott. Was planning to work on that more today but i tweaked my back yesterday and when i woke up today it was just killing me. Better now though, so i'l get back to that project tomorrow.

Well the tranny has been dropped, new flywheel and starter on, and tranny is back in. Theres a shitload of work i hope i dont have to do again in the near future. It is nice having the car that starts normally though. Now for some rust repair, new front fenders, a tailgate, headliner, dash pad, front seats, carpet, trim pieces, window tint, steering wheel, a good cleaning, some turbines, led's, better suspension,.................and it will almost be in good shape
