That's pretty funny. I recall bouncing off my limiter a few times because I couldn't hear what was going on that night. No wonder people were hanging out of their cars on LSD cheering us on. I'm sure they heard us coming. Most people around here roll up their windows and pull up a little when I am next to them at a light, lol. This thing makes people nervous sometimes...

Thanks Mercmarquis. Your new Windsor has almost the same compression ratio as mine with a lot more aggressive cam going into it, and much better heads. Can't wait to hear it when it's done. My new cam is just a little hotter than the one currently in it now.

I got hassled once in Houston, Tx. when I lived there for not having a front plate on my 77 Fury... I told her that the reason the plate wasn't on the car was because I had to order a new front tag holder from the dealer... as No one had one anywhere, not even any of the junkyards... And I had just bought the car... It was a female officer.. I REALLY pissed her off when I told her as she was leaving that she was just jealous, because my car had a 440 in it, and could outrun her POS 1982 Gran Fury... (318 two barrel) Even her partner, (A male officer...) about doubled over laughing... He looked at me and said "good one!"

Agent Caitlin Todd… You know Tony, Statistics show that married men live longer…
Agent Tony DiNozzo… It only seems longer….

I wasnt so used to driving the big tank on the highway.. its been sitting for months and i was so used to the precise and predicable handling of the zx2 that it felt wierd dirving the tank on LSD.. plus that damn pinging, i was never really able to get on it. there was a heavy amount of traffic at that hour too, surprised me.
        LTD is still here

Yeah, there was a lot of traffic. Clark was crazy busy as well. Much better for smaller, more nimble cars to get through. I was having some cooling issues early on, and had the heater on full blast to compensate, so I wasn't too happy with all the traffic. First time the car ran hot, which is weird because it was cool that night, and I don't have the a/c running yet. Maybe putting in the condenser is hurting the radiator's effectiveness? I hadn't driven my car in so long it took me a good 15 minutes to start it. I had to get fuel into the carb. Next time we meet up, I'll have the Fusion or Mark, as the Vic is going under the knife. They opened up a new restaurant right by my house:

          http://www.quakersteakandlube.com/default_in.html

Really good wings, in 19 different sauces, the biggest beer I've ever seen (had it's own cooling device and tap!), plenty of parking, and various Corvettes hanging from the walls and ceiling. We ate underneath an '82 or '83 Vette on a lift. This would be a good spot for a Chicago/NWI meet sometime!

Wow! Sounds like you guys had a blast! I haven't spent much time in Chicago proper since I started driving in '96, but I imagine Lake Shore Drive was quite the place to go cruising with two almost-identical-looking black Vics. I may be visiting in Porter County the weekend after July 4, so I'll have to see if I can tootle out your way for part of an afternoon.

Sounds good. The link to the restaurant above is in Porter County right off of 90/94. Unfortunately I am working that weekend. I might be able to get out early Saturday evening, though. Maybe some people from Illinois and Michigan will swing on over?

I haven't even tried their wings yet, IDK why. I've heard the atomic wings are so hot they're disgusting. I don't mind hot shit, but I know flavor does take a loss when it get's real hot.

I can't go much past the Golden Garlic. I just can't handle hot stuff anymore. I heard you have to sign a waiver to try the atomic.
