Mini-meet in Chicago Pics and Vids (Dial-up killer)

Met up with LTDMasta (Epi), and later on, a Friend with his Mark VIII. Had a good snack (Maxwell Street Polish, Fries, and a Drink for just $4.05), took a cruise, and got some coffee. Lots of thumbs-ups and good reactions from the citizens of Chicago last night. Seeing two black boxes cruising around must not be too common. Man, we were watched like a hawk anywhere we parked by security or the Police. Weird to get asked to leave the 7-11 due to a 5 minute parking rule. We were there a while as a drunk person with no money got into a fist fight with an angry, unpaid cab driver. Who needs the Jerry Springer Show when you can just pull into your neighborhood 7-11 and see some excitement. Anyhow, some pics:

(Epi, not sure what shots of your car you want posted)

And some POS and Mark VIII vids:

Good to meet you, your SQ, and your friend, Epi. Michael and I ended up staying out until 5A. We need to meet up again sometime so I can see your spare dashpad. Maybe I'll bring out my Mark or Michael's GTS once the radiator situation gets figured out.

After you're done with the wetsand and buff, your SQ will probably be the nicest '87 around. Come out to my neck of the woods and you'll have a newfound appreciation of the SQ. Good thing you don't have a front tag; I can post pics of the SQ without editing. Do you get questioned by the police at all? Some more pics:

BTW, Michael loves your exhaust and tips. He wants me to yank my mufflers and add the tips as well. Too bad I want to make it quieter. I am liking the look of your grille. I'm thinking about doing something in between what the SQ and the POS look like currently. How was the timing on the drive home?

When I lived in Illinois...I used to get pulled over occasionally for not running a plate. Make sure you have all your registration, insurance, and licence stuff with you and the spare front plate under the passenger seat.

I once got caught without my insurance card and the guy gave me TWO tickets...had to put the plate back on to get them dropped.

                    Nice pictures...very cool!

i'm looking for the right bracket, but ultimately, the front plate will be back on. i'm looking for something that can collapse out of sight so i can mount it underneath the front bumper, hide it for shows, out for driving.

i got hassled by not having it once-

i was on my way to a local mustang meet one saturday morning. there was a checkpoint just right around the corner of my house, which i never knew about. they nabbed me for not having the city sticker (mind you, the city sticker is required if you park in the city, my car is garaged 365 days a year, never parks on city streets) and after 20 mins of explianing this to the officer, he told me take the ticket or else i'll give you one for not having the front plate as well.

whats even stupider the fine for not having a city sticker costs more than the city sticker itself ($120 fine for a $75 sticker)

Yeah, pretty much. I did go to 2nd and 3rd twice down there (once when my buddy spilled his water in his lap). I have been denied 1st gear priviledges for many, many years in this car until recently. It used to shift up to 2nd every time at around 3500 RPM. The stock setup was 2-D-CircleD. With the new trans and valvebody, and being underground, I couldn't resist. The car sounds better in person, my still camera set to video mode doesn't do it justice. The other night was one of the first times I have heard my car from the outside, as I jumped into my buddy's Mark VIII while he had a good time burning a 1/4 tank of gas in about 20 miles. He had pretty big grins the whole time, we even missed our exit.

Epi, you were next to me a lot on Lakeshore Drive and on the way back. Does it sound the same in person? Could you hear my car over yours, lol?
