Valvecover gods are a tough bunch to please, in my experience. But yeah, those shorties look great! Hi temp paint is already peeling off mine.

Nice mang. What kind of bolts did you use on the headers?

Normal stainless steel bolts, I think they were 3/16" by 1" long, with a flat washer against the flange then a lock washer. I let the car heat up fully, then cool down completely, and re-tightened them all. Havnt come loose since, and I got about 4000km on the exhaust system. I used duplicolor High heat paint on the headers after sandblasting them, about 10 coats if it and some other cheap flat white heat paint I had. They are kinda yellow to the eye now, but the camera flash makes them white. I liked the idea of white headers, but when I upgrade them for the H.O conversion, they will either be BBK or Ford Racing headers, and they are chromed.

Looks good. What kind of paint did you use on the headers? When I had stock HO headers, I painted them up with POR15 Black Velvet high temp paint. Its the only stuff I've ever seen not just bubble and flake off exhaust parts. I should pick some more of it up and paint the headers on my car now.

I used Duplicolor High Heat (1200*) flat white paint for like the first four coats, then I found some cheap white high heat paint at a local tool discount store and put about 8 more coats of that on.

Shouldnt be a problem, I have MKVII Aluminum VC's with Fel-Pro Permadry silicone/metal core gaskets. No problems as of yet

I know it was eons ago, but do you happen to remember how many cans of paint was required to cover the turbines?

I'm thinking it was 3, maybe 4, then maybe 2 cans of clear. They were a complete pain in the ass to paint...

Yea i can imagine. WAY to much surface area to try and cover. But it sure looked worth it!
