Panther7t9 Rare 1981 Marquis Meteor wagon

This is my latest ride, it was bought as a parts car but I later found out that it was far to good a car to rip apart. This wagon was from Toronto Onatrio, it has less than 36,000 orignal kms on it and no rust or body work. I purchased it in october and have'nt had a chance to play with it yet, it has been in storage since, planning on personalizing it when it comes out later this April. I will add some pics then. Thanks for looking.

    Some info about this unit:

-This car is all orignal except a very thorough colourchange from silver to black.
-This is one of 2219 units produced world wide without the wood trim
-This was supposed to be a donor car for my 79 marquis sedan but turns out that that would
    have been a bad idea.

Some personal touches for this spring will be the following:

-New hood and body side stripes 3/16 hood and 1/4 body side brite red
    -New colour keyed/chrome bodyside moldings
    -polished stainless mudflaps
-Rear deflector for the roof rack
    -Amber chrome fog lamps
    -Orignal optional wire wheels
    -OEM dual exhaust slightly customized
    -New white wall tires
    -A cleaning of its life.

An 81 with no damage or rust. Damn, that's a great find. I can't wait to see what's in store for it, I see upgrades in its future. Or are you gonna keep it original? Cuz that would be cool too.

Due to it's rarity, have you considered restoring it to original appearance? Then modding the supsension... motor... tranny... lol.

Looks good, looking forwards to new pics!

So whats the equivelant model in the US? is it just Marquis? Mine does not physically say meteor on the car but thats what the ownership and all paperwork says. As for the question about returning my wagon to its orignal appearence.....I am not a fan of silver cars and since the colour change was done so well that the only way I could tell was that the floor was silver I am going to leave it black for now. When that car was appraised I was told that the colour change does not affect the value.

Yea, it would just be a Marquis here.

Hmm just noticed something. No side marker lights. I guess you don't need 'em with the taillights extending over on the sides.

I think the name here would have been Mercury Marquis kinda like how my new Wagon is still a Ford Crown Victoria and not a Country Squire. You just kinda have to stick "wagon" on the end of the name so people know it's a wagon. Merc Wagons are really pretty rare with or without wood - on par with two doors.

Yea Merc wagons don't have those side markers back there.
