As for trim, I straighten it out and let it sit in the sun for a couple of hours. IF needed I use the 3M trim adhesive which is in a tube. The adhesive under the red coating, which peels off, is generally good enough. Make sure you get as much of the old adhesive off. If not, you will have issues. If the trim is not a Ford part, expect it to last only a couple of years. The shiny coating crinkles up then peels. I have replaced the bumper trim on the 96 about every 5 years. It lasts that long because the car is not used six months out the year. Instead of peeling the old trim off, it could be painted with a chrome paint that adheres to rubber or plastic. You will have to clean the old trim with a plastic prep . Next take you time to mask off any body and bumper panels that could get oversprayed.
Make sure the width of your new trim is the same size as the old trim. There are different sizes for different models and years. There is even a difference between front and rear bumpers in length.
Good luck.

I think I will go the repainting route, the replacement trim appears to be much thicker that whats currently on there. I can slice that down the road. To many irons in the fire, as I am now attacking the 79.
as far as this 94, the cruise control is inoperable, two windos took a dive, air bag light blinking (got the code) no sense going ballistic on cosmetic untill everything mechanical is up to snuff.

IIRC Code 13 is a circuit short. Some cars have a yellow connector under the passenger seat. You would disconnect it and reconnect it and the code clears. Your car probably won't be that lucky so you may have to hunt for shorts. Has an airbag every gone off? Is this a new code or was it there when you got the car? If it is new, have you done any wiring work recently? If so, recheck ANY wiring work you did for bad connections and or shorts. What I Own: 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis GS

Yeah, I am starting to finally get the.knowledge and practical experince in anything electric with cars. I have a long way to go, but finally breaking the seal and attempting it. Picked up the vaccum.and electrical trouble shooting guide from sleezy bay for $14.
The airbag light is annoying. Read about the no no of going after the blub due to the chime. I do want to fix the cruise as well, so another thing to find.

Speak of the devil, blower motor is out. No engagement, even on high (which I have read can bypass) 30 amp fuse is good to go in fuse box.AC clutch engages and cold air whippers through albeit at high speeds.
Been reading everything from the resister, to the motor itself.
Trouble shooting advice hopefully in bound

low volts at blower is probably the fan switch gone bad or the harness to the blower resistor. Sometimes the blower resistor shunt goes bad too. Those are just crimped connections and they sometimes fatigue out, so don't rule out that thing.

Hadn't seen your post yet but obviously got your text.
the connector to the BSCM has been replaced, I would assume the BSCM has also been replaced, but couldn't quite tell from picture. Blower motor appears to be original.
I'm wondering if the blower motor was going bad, which put more stress on the BSCM causing it to burn/melt. This lead to PO replacing at least the connector and possibly the BSCM. Since the (possibly) failing motor doesn't look to have been replaced the process repeats.Vic

I get a stumble on idle from time to time. Is this the idle air control valve.? It sure looks differnt then the one typically available.

As far as I know the only difference between the '94 IAC and a box IAC is the breather thing. Take the IAC off and give it a good cleaning. Carb cleaner I suppose. A little squirt of lube, although I'm not sure what kind, might also help.Vic
