I finally tackled the heater core. I wiped the vents out with lysol and cleaned out the box.

Any friends still present or just their bedding?

Nice work. Not a fun job to do. Two pre-90 box heater cores within this last week I read about on the forums.

        No, Just the bedding.

The last heater core I did on a box was my two door in May 2018, So I was a bit rusty. Next, I get to do a Heater core on a 1999 Buick Lesabre.

My wagon is the only vehicle I've ever done a heater core on, so I don't have a whole lot of perspective, but I can say it sucks. Cleaning out the ducts was needed and realistically it's the same work to do that as to do the heater core, so that definitely made sense to do together.

That was a smelly, smelly car lol.

About two months ago I added a rear sway bar from a early 2000’s grand marquis. U bolts were ordered online. I ordered rear bushings and links from rock auto and put them on the car. Its just a skinny bar but its better then nothing.

The beginning of the year I also got a set of rain guards from my brother. Here they are on the car. You can also see the illuminated lock cylinders I added in early 2023. They operate correctly and have been re pinned to work with the keys i was given for the car.

Those lit keyholes are nice to have. Sway bar in the rear is very nice to have. The 88 MGM I had never had a rear sway bar so stunts like this could be done:

What'd you do for attachment points on the frame? The little corner brace pieces that the newer bars attach to are differently shaped and maybe thinner on the pre-90ish cars. Someone recently documented this in photos around here, can't recall who though.

Not necessarily hard to weld on a thicker plate, I suppose.

I found this on the other site towards the bottom of the page: https://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/...ozObLwZX5KUthw

I have not welded on another plate though I just drilled a hole for the links to go through on the corner braces. So far its held up fine. However, If I'm back there again I'd like to weld on thicker plates.

July 19: I was coming home from work sitting at a red light. I was side swiped by this Hyundai. She was trying to get into the left turn lane and I guess she thought she could squeeze herself in. I reported it to the collision centre and my insurance. (We'll see what happens with that)

The damage to my car is just the rubber guard on the bumper (see photo) and minor paint transfer to the chrome on the bumper.

Yea sucks to be her, but she should be more patient in the future. The first thing she said to me when she got out of her car was "what happened" I said you hit my car, she didnt want to give me her info, so all I had was her plate and the collision centre told me they're gonna find out who she is.
