    My Caribbean Green Queen

Wow, the title was a bit silly, but I had to try and make it catchy. Some of you might remember me from crownvic.net, but oh well. I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

My ride is a 1993 Crown Victoria LX. I purchased it in June of '05 with 59,950 miles on the odometer. Right now it has 66,130.

I haven't bothered to modify it as much as other people have done theirs. The first thing I did was replace the fairly-worn headlight casings. After that, some bright headlights were installed and I was set.

For Christmas of '05, my parents bought me a JVC CD player. That small gesture of kindness has cost me a lot of money so far. :-D More on that later.

The next thing I bought for the car were tires. I had two snow tires on the rear for my first winter, and I hated them. Come spring, the front Michelins and the rear generic snow tires went bye-byes along with my slight desire for whitewalls. As a sidebar, however, the Michelins that were on the rear did not make it to that winter. They were pretty worn, so I helped them along. The tires I chose were Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds. They're nice looking, they're quiet, and offer more grip than I tend to use.

Next up? Dual exhaust. I wanted something to get my car noticed, so I sent the car to a muffler/exhaust place and told them to have fun. I ended up with half the cats, aluminized 2.25 inch piping from the cats back, and Super 40 Flowmaster mufflers. Yep, I definitely get noticed now.

The part of the car I've concentrated most on was the stereo. Shortly after the CD player was installed, I purchased some Infinity Reference 5x7s for the front doors. I was happy with that until a few months ago when the stereo bug bit me. Next up were Infinity Kappa 6x9 3-ways, and then a Blaupunkt amplifier. Monday will be a new headunit with three pre-outs so I can run my amp better, as well as the Infinity Basslink sub in the near future. Also the References will be replaced with Kappas shortly. All told, I should be putting out appoximately 540 watts when I'm finished. Nothing huge, but not dinky, either.

And for closing, a few recent pictures:

    Thanks for reading!

I've seen these pics before, very nice!

Sounds like you are going through the stereo buz I went through a while back. First receiver, then speakers, then amp for all the speakers, then better speakers, and then better receiver. I still haven't got that better receiver part done, but that's because I refuse to use anything but a JVC KD-LX333, which are no longer made.

Wow, that's sharp. I love the color on it... looks good on the aero.

Like how you put that about going to the muffler shop too, lol. I'd love to hear some sound clips of it...

Hey folks, thanks for the replies and compliments. There are a few video clips in the video forum thingy... I think I put them in the right place.

Yeah, Blaze, I'm going through the stereo thing. The only difference was that I did the rear speakers right from the start so I wouldn't have to re-replace them. Replacing the front ones isn't necessary, either, but I want to so I'm going to.

                It's fun to spend money.

Looks like a solid car, great condition. Welcome to GMN, and like the others, I want a sound slip of that beast. When I get my next Vic, if it's an Aero, I plan on the stock 2" pipes, but the cats will be punched out and i'll have Summit glasspacks, so that will be very loud.
