two half credits gives you 10, but...
Murph sill wins overall...!!!
The bling bling chrome oil cap is what I was after, and he gets extra credit for the radiator holddowns. In the "old" pic of the 85, those are indeed the same holdowns, just re-painted, you can even see the holes i drilles in them so they would work in the 85. They are correct ones in the new pic, so only 5 points for that, making 15 keen observer points for the win!!!!!!!!
Now for a side tangent about the oil cap...
I thought it was the coolest thing when I got the 77... I'll never forget the first day I put oil in it, and found shiny chrome after I wiped the gunk off of the cap.
Sadly, the reason this was the first time I was putting oil in it, was because the engine had shut off after being run dry. Only then did i think to check the oil... (gimmie a break, I was 16...!!)
4 quarts of oil and about 2 minutes of very rough idling later, she was purring like a kitten again. I drove it for another 2 1/2 years, fixed most of the oil leaks, made it what you see in the old pics, then I guess the spun bearing finally gave up and took its toll...
Those 2 1/2 years are what stuck me on big funky fords. The crown vic was a logical next choice - the perfect combination of "new technology" and old school yacht feel.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

:bump:
got the painted HPP wheels on! and I need to update this thread with some other things...
but here pics of the wheels for now....!
The paint got marred around the hub hole from the wheel balancer cone, and around the lug holes from the torque stick... but they still look good!
lets hope the paint stays on when i wash them for the 1st time!!!
Also... the LSC center caps fit right on over my front hubs I'm not fighting it!!Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

I have been toying with the idea of painting my town car rims black, and leaving the centers the same color. You've just made my decision for mesigpic

Thanks mangs!
I just scuffed up as much as i could with fine grit sandpaper... so i expect the nooks and recessed dips to flake off first! I used Krylon multi-surface indoor/outdoor gloss black. It sure went on nice...Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements
