"It needs everything as far as drivetrain, suspension, brakes,"
What r ur plans for front suspension and brakes?
Helped a friend turn his 51 into a street rod. He used an AMC Pacer complete front clip. Correct width and gives u rack & pinion steering, disc brakes, front coils, parts availability.
I understand that 77/78 Cougar, and also later model Cougar/T-bird front clips will work.
Many years ago, I had a 41 with the stock front suspension and steering. Was a handful at all speeds above 40.

Really need to upgrade the front suspension and steering.
Speed cost....how fast u wanna go??

It's not how much hp u have...
It's how much hp u can put to the track...

Let's seperate the men from the boys and put that power to the track using street tires and stock suspension components

'Tis infinately better to sit quietly and be thought a fool,
than to speak and remove all doubt.

I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

I'm sticking with the stock suspension and steering. I'm just going to rebuild the stock stuff, new bushings, kingpins, tie rods, drag link shocks etc. I've driven an I-beam truck before and am fine with it. As long as it's not worn out they ride ok. I want to keep it a truck. So no clips or MII setups, stock will work for me. I might add a antisway bar to it.

For the brakes I'm going to run the stock Explorer rear disc and up front I'm picking up a kit from ECI to convert the stock spindles to disc brakes using Volare/Aspen rotors/hubs and camaro caliper( ). But I'm going to run late model Mustang PBR dual piston calipers(maybe even Cobra calipers ). This will probably require a new caliper to spindle mounting bracket, but that's not an issue. And for the mastercylinder I'm going to run two Wilwood mastercylinders(One for fron one for back no booster ) on one of their hanging pedal assemblies. Basically it's a setup like a stock car runs.
