    My 50 F1 (Hot Rod, someday )

I know it's not a Panther but it's my Hot rod and will keep me busy until I can get the 2dr CV From Moneypit's friend.

Here's the pic from the classified ad I found it in.

The day I picked it up.

Here it is all tucked away for the long cold winter!!

Here's a shot of the dash. The steering wheel is out of a 51 Ford car.

Here's the 8.8" Explorer rear diff I picked up for it. 3.73 gears, trac-loc, disc brakes.

The engine compartment as it sits(Flathead V8 was gone when I got it ).

Here's the engine that's going in it(you can almost see an engine in the picture ). It's a 1991 351W with a ZF 5spd manual transmission.

Here's the Weiand Stealth intake I picked up off Ebay. I've got a new Edelbrock Performer carb and a 1" carb spacer.

Here's some cheap headers I bought for it.

I've got a Cloyes street true roller timing set, Zoom clutch set and I just ordered the Comp Cams Magnum 280H cam, lifters and valvesprings for it.

I still need to pick up the Comp Cams roller rockers, spring retainers and locks and MSD pro billet distributor and 6AL ignition box.

It needs everything as far as drivetrain, suspension, brakes, wiring goes. My goal is to just get the drivetrain in it get it driveable and do some interior work. Then I can start terrorizing the streets with it.

Actually I might just leave the exterior the way it is. It takes a lot of work to get the 56 years of wear and tear look on a truck!!

But if I decide to paint it I'll spray it John Deere Blitz black(satin black, tough as nails ) with Ford engine blue scallops.

Yep, I was hoping to have it on the road in time for the 2007 BTT50's show but it will probably won't be road worthy until the 2008 show. I've got a lot of work to do.

Are those still bias ply tires on the front?

Yep those are bias ply tires. They are shot. I believe the front rims are off a 40 Ford. But I'm swapping the front to disc brakes with the 4.5" bolt pattern(to match the Explorer rear diff ) so I won't be able to run them.
