My dad's good for saying there's spark when there isn't (like last time this happened), so I'm gonna check myself for spark and see what I find. I'm just so tired of working on these cars. I love them, but I'd like to at least drive one of the damn things.

It's firing on 4 or five cylinders. Where do I take it from here? I'm thinking ignition module, but I could be wrong. What can I check before I buy anything?

replace the wires and plugs, and clean the distributor. Wouldn't hurt to replace the cap and rotor.

New cap, rotor, and plugs. It's worse than I thought, though...
checked again and the cylinders that do fire only fire two or three times then stop.

Wonder if the module on the distributor is fried. Does the module get scalding hot when running?

sounds like the pickup..swap the dist if you have one..

MIght also want to check the power to the coil, and the coil itself.

It also did this with my new 40,000 volt coil.
How much power should be getting to the coil?
