    Where does this stuff get applied? Inside or outside of the lense?

    Outside, the stuff doesn't apply even from what I here, because it's not like paint. So the more coats the smother it'll look, but it'll be darker.

      outside of the lense, itll look like flat black paint, use a clearcoat over it for shine, itll apply even if you spray it from more than 8 inches away(dries faster)

        As others have said, apply several light coats. After 24 hours, apply several light coats of clear topcoat.
