Fix for aluminum trim!

I took some extra 400 grit sandpaper I had from cleaning up my head light bezels and used it on the trim around my windows and vinyl. It looks amazing!

Before - Hard to tell, but there is a white coating over most of the trim and rain damage.

I used a brillo pad on mine, worked well....but yours looks better.

I'd wetsand with a higher grit, but that looks great.

how high a grit should i do i got the same prolbem andi was looking for a fx

Actually, 400 and then a buffer would look like a mirror most likely, 600-800 would be good.

Although, a brushed/satin look would be nice also..

Ive just been doing it by hand, wet sanding by the way, forgot to say that before.

Takes about 5 minutes to get the shine back on one full piece of trim, no need to buff.

That looks great - imma need to try this. my trim is way dull and oxytized.

Hmm, must try that soon, jsut that there is sooo much trim on the at wagon...

+1, takes 4 hours just to wax the darn thing...

Its a once a year thing, four hours outside wont do you any harm.

the stainless trim still has a mild steel core and it will rust it you sand to far. i'd stick with rubbing compound and or steel wool. dont recoment any grit sand papper
