there is a plastic wheel by 3M that works wonders on paint. there is also something that is quite like a pencil eraser ive heard about, supposed to be strictly for removing vinyl without damaging the paint. or, you could first spray it with a heavy duty paint stripper, like Aircraft Remover, to break it down a bit first.

yep, big eraser on a drill bit more or less, used em when i worked at a body shop, anywhere that sells autobody supplies should have them, 3m makes them, mabye other companys too, but i know 3m does

Don't even bother with that 3M woodgrain remover crap. It was the first thing I tried. Didn't work worth a shit. Their adhesive remover is equally as useless. That's why I went with paint stripper. Worked like a charm.
