Where can I pick up a few spray cans of my factory paint color (Currant Red)? A Ford dealership or body shop? I have to touch up a few deep scratches and I want to remove my hood ornament. Can I do the work myself or do I have to send the car off to a body shop?

I bought some Duplicolor spray paint yesterday at Advance Auto Parts. I got a small can of Dark Toreador Red and it's just about the same color as the Currant Red without the clearcoat. What's up?
Anyone know anything about Ford's paint colors?

What my dad did to get a paint match, was take it to a paint/body shop. They took off the gas filler door and used that somehow, to mix colors and get the matched paint.
Your best bet would be to do something like this, because your color isn't made anymore, I almost guarentee you. Also keep in mind your car has been exposed to the weather for almost 17 years, the paint is not going to be the same as it was on day 1.Last edited by boXman; 05-26-2006, 07:06 PM.'89 Ford LTD Crown Vic - '92 Ford F-150 Custom -

Duplicolor's Ford "Toreador Red" is actually a good match for my color. I painted a spare grille a few weeks ago. I have to touch it up a little, but I might mount it tomorrow if I figure out how to remove the old grille without breaking it.

I finally put the grille on. I DON'T like it. Dark Toreador Red isn't too far off from 16 year old Currant Red.
The whole car needs to be repainted. I think it would look better if the headlight bezels and bumper were painted the same color. I would painted the surfaces around the headlight bezels black like women's mascara or eyeliner.
