As long as the plates are the same bolt pattern and the shock is the same diameter (which I think it is), it "should" work, but I'm wagering modification of the mounting plate for the reinforcement bar will be required.

Not sure if the year of yours, but I have a 83/91 collision catalog that lists the front and rear as the same part number.
