So I painted over the grey primed outside gas door on my '86 Tudor MGM.
The code 8-A (med sand beige)and it looks great, no need to clear coat the thing, it would look better than the rest of the car LOL.
Additionally I am glad that I removed the the three pieces that were attached to the inside door. I now just open it when I get out of the car to fill up the tank. The thought of the door release not working properly, and then having to pry open and destroy the door/hinge was not something I wanted to entertain.
And yes Peter, the door was spot welded to the hinge assy, and not glued as I previously "assumed"
